kristopher, henrietta • {―gone}
"Eyes forward, no glancing behind; no saying hello to Kris; avoid him like the plague. Run out of here like you are the next Usain Bolt." As the Gryffindor briskly collected her belongings; tucking her potions textbook neatly under her arm, making sure she had her parchment and quill, she repeated her potions-class-exit mantra -- over, and over, and over again. "Eyes forward, no glancing behind; no saying hello to Kris -- avoid him like the plague. Run out of here like you are the next Usain Bolt."
Now don't go jumping to any conclusions, for it wasn't that the girl disliked Kristopher. In a complete pledge of honesty, Henrietta happened to adore the boy -- she admired him for his kind-heart, adored how the two of them seemed to be able to talk about nothing other than waffles for an hour or two ... sometimes three; and above all, Henri loved the sight of his smile -- something that had always been a source of warmth, kindness and safety for Henri these past six years at Hogwarts. In fact, it was for these very same reasons that Henri found herself running away and avoiding the boy this very instant. The past year hadn't been easy for the resident sixth year "Pocketful of sunshine"; with her ALS condition progressing more aggressively than ever before. Her stays at the hospital wing were becoming longer -- her days in the sun becoming more short-lived and rare. The shadow of mortality creeped around every corner she turned, and so in a weak act of self-protection; Henrietta had begun to push those who cared about her -- away. An attempt to minimise the collateral when she was gone, perhaps -- and Kristopher was no exception.
Staying true to her mantra, the Gryffindor dashed past the mass of students exiting the dungeons as if she were Moses parting the red sea; not even risking a single backwards glance as she executed her escape. One, two, three more steps and she would be free of the crowd -- but little did the poor little Gryffindor realise that the boy that she was trying to avoid, was the very same boy that was now following directly behind her.
