OKOKOK SO first let me tell you about Grantaire aka the love of my life

Ok so in the book, he is described as ugly (which he’s played by George Blagden and Hadley fraser who aren’t unattractive) and he paints, dances, sings, boxes, etc. He’s incredibly talented. But incredibly depressed. He basically just drinks all day not caring whether he died and in fact he would die if it weren’t for Enjorlras. See, Grantaire is a cynic and doesn’t believe that the Les Amis de l’ABC will be able to change anything but he believes in Enjolras. I’ll have to get my book in a minute and tell you what it says word by word but basically it says that Grantaire is in love with Enjolras. He describes E as a god and calls him beautiful. They seem to hate each other because when Grantaire joins the meetings, he is always drunk and the only way he can make conversation with E is if he makes arguments against what Enjolras is saying. He never says that he doesn’t agree, he mostly says things like “people won’t believe you how are you gonna make people believe you” and stuff like that. So like Enjolras hates him because he thinks the only reason Grantaire is there is to make fun of Enjolras. But Grantaire is literally staying alive for Enjolras

SPOILERS FOR THE END

So when the final battle began, Grantaire was asleep in a room and the soldiers hadn’t found him, and they wouldn’t have if Grantaire hadn’t gotten up. Realizing that Enjolras was about to die, he wanted to join him. Seeing that he wasn’t already dead, Grantaire said “vive la revolution” and walked over to Enjolras and said “do you permit it?” and at that point Enjolras realized that Grantaire was in love with him so he took Grantaire’s hand and smiled at him and then they were shot. Grantaire would have rather died with Enjolras than to live any amount of time without him

This may sound like fanfiction but it’s not?? I’ll get my book either today or tomorrow (I’m really lazy and I don’t wanna go downstairs) and take pictures but yea it’s really gay and George Blagden (Grantaire) is a HUGE shipper because he knows about the chemistry in the book and so anyways here’s some links
