People always said to imagine life as your favorite type of movie. Minho watched a lot of movies. He also loved a lot of movies. None so much as he loved a good, scary horror movie. They were always so much fun and he always felt his heart race whenever he watched them! The Monthly Girlâs Manga subscription heâs had since he was fourteen told him heart racing is a sign of love, and they hadnât mislead him about his first crush ( giving pink flowers WAS the way to go ), his first day of school ( his seatmate had been his best friend for the entirety of high school! ), or his clothing choices ( big bows and pastels and puffy sleeves would always be in-style for him ).
Which is all to say, Jang Minho was probably the only attendant at the Yuseong Halloween Party who was excited and happy to see a spooky witch show up, share a spooky story, and disappear. He tried to see if he could find her again so she could teach him the choreography to the spooky girl group song, but she completely evaded him! He toddled around in his big dinosaur costume, trying to check underneath the snack table for any signs of witches. Unzipping his costume slightly, he poked his head out so he could see better ( and also, monch on some pretzels ). Even though he couldnât find a witch, he did find Kiha looking super cute in his pink Stitch onesie! He ambled over to his favorite hyung excitedly.
âHyung! Hyung, are you looking for the witch too? I canât find her anywhere.â

sheâs fumbling down the stairs, arm loaded with paperwork and folders enough to reach her chin, the other is having trouble keeping the stack balanced as well as grabbing onto the railing of the stairs every now and then. she stumbles for a second, holding her breath to regain her balance. if she falls, sheâs unsure if sheâll even be able to get up again. and itâs just her luck that the elevators had decided to stop working, on the day that she had the most files to transport. she loses her footing, unable to see the stairs below her as she stumble forward, half the pile slipping off and scattering around her, but she manages to catch herself and she leans up against the railing for dear life.Â
she lets out a defeated sigh, kneeling down in between the steps to hurriedly gather the materials in one pile. she doesnât know how life had gotten her to this point, she wasnât always this useless intern. people tell her to stop referring to herself as such, but she comes to a point where she canât help but find that itâs the only word that truly defines her. sheâs placing one folder after another, atop of each other on one of the steps. she takes advantage of the moment to catch her breath, as she sits down on the steps, leaning up against the railing. elbows resting against her knee, as palms come to hold at her features. hues falling to the still scattered folders on the steps beneath, too tired to even get up to retrieve them.

whenever promotions came around, yurim found herself growing tired of performing the same song over and over againâin her defense, who wouldnât?âwhich led to a growing desire to sing the songs that she wanted to sing. itâs how she finds herself at the yuseong building so late at night, walking towards the vocal rooms that sheâs pretty sure will be empty. sure, there might be a few ambitious trainees, but she thinks anybody with a regular sleep schedule should be in bed by now.Â
when she gets to the room, sheâs surprised to find that itâs already occupied. her brain tells her that she could just walk back out and use another one, but this is her favorite vocal practice room, and sheâs a little too tired to think properly so she just walks on in. this isnât her first time seeing kiha around. actually, she thinks she sees kiha around all too frequently which shouldnât be a surprise being under the same company and all, but the amount of times theyâve coincidentally bumped into one another has led to a blooming friendship. or something close to a friendship.Â
âwhat you working on?â she inquires before closing the door behind her and leaning against it. yurim places the water bottle that sheâs brought along onto the floor beside her as a sign that she isnât leaving. perhaps sheâs being a little rude, but if he wants her to leave she will. until then, sheâs curious to know what the main vocalist is practicing.
back up against the wall, legs sprawled before him, chugging on a bottle of water. his other hand occupied with his phone, his thumb quick to dart around the keyboard, with the occasional typo that heâs too lazy to backspace for. he knows, that his recipient @wskihaâ is more than capable of deciphering his mess of a text conversation by now. surely, kiha wouldnât have any difficulty reading what was being sent to him.

their friendship had been a wholesome one, despite being almost polar opposites, their dynamic worked well together. he was the rock that miles had depended on for a while, ever since he was but a tiny child at age five. despite, having migrated several times, their friendship withstood the test of time and surprisingly, even the test of gradual change. although, not willing to show the vulnerability behind their friendship, miles always kept a close eye on the other, offering help, even if it sounded like a backhanded compliment more than anything. milesâ inept handling of anything more than a simple pat on the back was a milestone even he couldnât properly comprehend. the cycle that washed his mundane reverie with compassion and care, something he was not able to fully grasp had become somewhat, tangible. finally.Â
he tosses his bottle atop the bag beside the mirrors, deciding instead, to stare at his phone screen until he received a response. the excitement in his stomach almost causing him to feel nauseous, and he wasnât sure if it was because it had been a while since kiha and himself, had the luxury to spend time together in between their busy schedules or... the food. it was hard to tell but until then, he would settle on the former.

extramiles taking a break from dislocating my hips practicing ladybugâs up&down choreo, w/ best mentor @wskihaÂ
female dance choreography was not within his field of expertise, despite having seen ladybug performing and practicing constantly, he had never taken out his own time to memorise or learn their dances by heart. in a sense, he could be considered a fake fan, amongst many other things. so, it was a shock to realise that he had been enlisted as part of the up&down unit for the festival. slightly horrified upon spotting his name but it was nothing a little practicing couldnât fix. right?Â
and here he was, sprawled across the practice room floor, on his back as arms wave about in the air, attempting to memorise the choreography. it had only been ten minutes, and he was already tired, there was no way he would be able to embody ladybug without appearing way more aggressive than necessary. arms, finally falling to his sides, âi think my inner ladybug was killed when the fire nation attacked.â he lets out a defeated sigh, allowing his gaze to fall onto his current dance mentor @wskihaâ. the one and only. if miles was to ask anyone for choreography help related to ladybug, kiha was his go to. miles had planned on winging the entire performance based on a single flick through of the dance practice, but had ultimately rethought his decision to give people yet, another opportunity to humiliate him.Â
however, at this point, in his current position on the floor, it was looking a lot more comfortable than whatever was about to come his way with refining his overall dance. which encompassed less aggression and more sexiness. something miles has not yet been able to acquaint himself with. âfive more minutes and iâll get my shit together. five more minutes.â he moves to raise his hand up, fingers spreading to signify the time, as his other arm comes to shield over his eyes.
Minho wasnât a crier. Scratch that, Minho wasnât a sad crier. He had shed plenty of happy tears in his lifetime, from the moment he got his first kite to stay in the air to finally winning a spot in an Etoile fansign, Jang Minho was no stranger to tearing up because of strong, positive emotions. Even as a baby, he gurgled and babbled loudly and endlessly, but wasnât a frequent crier.Â
Yet here he was.Â
His chest felt tight with shame, like an iron fist clenched tightly around his heart and lungs until they squeezed all the air out of him. He hadnât felt like this since he realized those trainees werenât laughing with him, but at him. Pretty, mocking faces curving up in giggles every time he failed to fit perfectly into the synchronicity the dance trainer demanded from them. He had cried then, secretly, curled up and hiding until his parents had gone to bed.Â
He had thought the evaluation had gone well. Gone great! Kiha hyung had helped him work through his My Pace lines and choreo, sweet and encouraging and earnest. He had been so confident; he would march up to his hyung afterward and share how amazing it had gone! Instead, the trainers had been upset with him, pointing out every late movement, asking why he hadnât practiced more if he was going to drag everyone else in the group down.Â
Knocking on the door to the Phoenix dorm, he shifted on his feet, replaying every criticism in his head. He hadnât been able to look at anyone after, staring at his shoes until he was able to shuffle out of the practice room. The disappointed stares would have been too much. He knocked again, throat tight. âKiha hyung, are you home?â
