Impassive glance from lowermost eyes towards the perishing demon, hardly paying any attention to the fallen being. Weak, likely arrogant, assuming they held far more power than they did and underestimating the one they decided to attack--weaker demons were such pitiful beings, lacking wisdom. Kokushibō felt no draw towards them, no inclination to avenge.

She would have more likely devoured the demon herself, but she cares even less for another's scraps.

Perhaps it were only natural: how many within the temple came to her and husband, searching for something more, something better than whatever they had run from when coming to them?

Such irony, for she had thrown away own humanity for so many centuries. Even now it still seemed so strange, how Dōma possessed talent for finding those rotten and decayed parts of herself, parts she thought long dead and buried only to realize they existed and lived just as the roots of tree untouched by frost.
