                  she KNOWS him, knows when he’s lying, but she decides to keep that to herself for now... if she can. but oh, it’s so hard to hold her tongue sometimes, to keep from taking that pretty little head of his in her hands and smashing it against a wall. she wouldn’t — norma would never hurt him ; he is all she has left in this cruel joke of a world, this pit of DESPAIR that she calls her death — but sometimes he is so DENSE, so naive, so unfeeling towards her plight. she did this for HIM ( everything she ever does is for him, all for him ) and while he goes out, basks in the warmth of the spring sun, spends lazy afternoons in cafe’s in the village ; lives his life ; she is STUCK here, cleaning up the messes he creates like the wonderful, self-sacrificing mother she is. he will never understand what she does for him, not in a million years.

“if you’re going to GO OUT for dinner, the least you can do is tell me so I don’t —” the apron around her waist is untied and torn from her in a flurry of angry hands, then thrown against the kitchen cabinets. “spend all day SLAVING over a hot stove for YOU!”

i am genuinely curious about this, do you think its wrong to use the term "soul bates" as a name for norma and norman being platonic/non-romanticized soulmates?? this is actually question i so want to ask both of you, because i do this and i was wondering if it makes people uncomfortable. like when i say "soul bates" people dont instantly know what i mean and they assume i am meaning romanticizing them and shipping them so im so curious how u feel about that
