THAT'S EXACTLY IT, they both haven't been back in...

( they absoLUTELY are stronger together, you can’t tell me otherwise. they knew that they were heading back, and i’ll bet my ass they planned that meeting out. they KNOW these pirates, they know the lords - they know the Cove. even if they haven’t been back, they know what they’re dealing with because it’s their entire lives. UGH so many feelings for these two )

These are my literally sons and I will fight a man behind a Waffle House at 3am over them.  But like.  That meeting was too well paced.  I refuse to believe otherwise because literally both of them have every reason not to want to deal with the rest of the court to begin with.  I also fully believe they were supposed to vote one or the other in as king but then along came Elizabeth and Jack did it and Hector came to the conclusion he could work with it.

It was a Bad Time but I just???  Have so many feelings about it and about how oh God, the refitting of the Pearl they were probably both nightmares to deal with since it had to be done so quickly and they were in this place with so many bad memories and like...I’d argue neither one really dwells too hard on the past, but the past likes to come knocking a lot and !!!

Like you can look at it as...Idk.  They’re actually both stronger people than the last time they’ve been at the Cove, too.  They’ve both literally been through hell and come out the other side.  Like it’s played for laughs, but this was coming back to the place that literally started everything.  It’s as much about confronting their pasts there (because, again, it all began with an unofficial court meeting) as it is deciding what to do about the EITC.  And they held it together so remarkably well but then.

I also think it’s because they had a plan.  Look me in the eye and tell me the majority of their back and forth in the Court wasn’t scripted between the two of them.  No, I fully believe they walked in with a purpose and a plan and that’s part of the reason, probably, they both were able to push it off and keep moving forward, because Jack and Hector were working a con together.

And I hate to say it, but they are literally always stronger together than they are working separately.
