â â   When he started this endeavor it was just supposed to be quick. Nothingâs ever easy so Michael didnât expect that. He knew better than to think things would be easy but, he hoped everyone would stick to their word and it would be quick. He had his son to get back to, Sara and Linc. An entire family that truthfully, he didnât want to leave behind. But, quick turned into years and   T H A T  was not the plan. Sara didnât have a clue, she was in the dark and being listed as dead meant that she could move on. Michael couldnât blame her if she did. The idea hurt, bone deep-- more than he even cared to admit to himself. In a way it made a part of him die just a little more each day that he had to go on living in this hell. To think that Sara could move on and their son,   HIS SON  would grow up not knowing him, calling someone else dad when thatâs one thing that gave Scofield a reason to want to get up each and every day.Â
When he signed that agreement to help, to basically cease as a living person Michael knew what he was walking away from. That didnât change the fact that he did send what he could. He was always that person. The one that worked on the outside of what everyone wanted from him. Bent the rules to make things work for him. So, he would try and send little messages in his own way. Things that he knew or  H O P E D  that Sara would see and realize that maybe he wasnât gone. Of course they could never be as obvious as a paper flower. Those the people that watched over him would take note of right away. Instead he found a way to send little messages. Stuff that probably looked like junk emails but, the subject line would contain phrases that the two used quite often.Â
âBe the change you want to see in the world.âÂ
âThereâs always a plan.â
âIt wonât always be like this.â
Yet, with each message Michael knew that there was really no way that Sara would really know it was him. He couldnât put her at risk sending anything more noticeable. There was no way he would do that to her or his child. The last thing Michael wanted to risk was someone finding out that he was trying to contact them and having someone go after his family.Â

⯠+ johanna finding out her husband died
SEND âŻ+ A SCENE FROM MY CHARACTERS CANON.    â    ACCEPTING.
she sits in the corner of her room,  feet curled underneath her and her poetry book resting against her thighs while her pen mindlessly runs across the pages.  sheâs always in a blissful daze when writing  â  when the thoughts inside her head can be gathered together and stain the pages before her.  the thoughts staining the pages today are ones that have her heart bursting with joy and a smile twitches at the edges of her lips.
for a world filled with so much turmoil and heartache,  for the life sheâs endured and the ones sheâs lost,  today she feels good  â  slightly at peace.  her daughter and her were talking more,  the strained relationship the pair had dissolving and the strong bond they once had rising from the ashes.  things with her husband,  oh they were always good.  the love the duo shared for one another was like no other   â  he was part of the reason she kept on going,  how she could breathe easier at night knowing he was by her side.
a constant knocking from the door to her room pulls her from her thoughts,  causes the smile stretching across her lips to drop into a thin line as her brows pull together.  a small groan canât help but fall from her lips as she places the pen in the middle of the book and closes it,  resting it on the chair as she rises off of it.  who was disturbing her?  she had today off  â  all her duties completed.  she deserved a break   â  some time to relax and let her shoulders roll back.
as she opens the door,  the atmosphere around her switches.  men roam up and down the halls,  angry words bouncing off each wall as everything become frantic.  her eyes land on the man standing before her,  a look in his eye that she hasnât seen in any of the saviors before   â  only in the eyes of her doctor,  and people after her son had passed.
a terrible feeling courses through her veins,  chest beginning to rise and fall as her heart begins to thud,  the sound traveling up to her ears and causing a deafening sound.  her chest begins to tighten as tears start to rim the edges of her lids.  the man before her,  his lips are moving,  sorrow and grief filling his lungs and dripping with each word.  but she hears none of it,  only hears the    â  jo,  itâs henry.  â    before her knees are starting to grow weak.
no,  no,  no.  this canât be happening   â  the world canât be taking another one of her boys.  but as the man confirms to her that a bullet has pierced through her husbands skull,  his body laying bloodied and lifeless among many more of their men,  her world falls apart.  everything moves in slow motion after that,  her breathing coming to a stop as the ache in her chest grows and tears betray her and slipping free from her lids and cascading down the frame of her face.
her daughters voice in her ear as her head jerking,  gaze snapping to see her daughter by her side,  confusion and worry etched across her face.  theodora is asking her whatâs wrong,  and jo shakes her head,  doesnât know what else to do or say apart from pulling her daughter into her chest and holding her as tight as possible as she whispers the words of another mason man theyâve lost and her heart continues to ache and break as her daughter crumbles in her arms,  tears and screams eliciting from the youngest and living mason.
joâs eyes fall closed,  face scrunching as her body grows weak from holding not only thea up,  but herself,  and she falls.  crashes onto the ground with her daughter buried deep against her.  she holds her daughters shaking body,  refusing to let her own body shake because she couldnât break  â  she couldnât mourn the love of her life and the only strength that kept her going because she had to be there for her daughter,  had to be strong for the both of them.  sheâd mourn for henry later   â  curl up beneath the sheets wishing she was dead  â  that it had been her.  sheâll let sleep succumb her,  hoping to be reunited with her husband and son.
"Gabby.â Matt stopped walking and turned to face his wife. WIFE. It has officially been several weeks since they got married at the courthouse, yet it still felt strange. But he couldn't be happier. So much hell has happened, it was enough to make him crazy. Yet they both, along with the rest of FIREHOUSE 51 overcame it like champs. His mind briefly drifts off to that day. It may not have been a conventional marriage, but he will do it again and again if he had to. Shortly after they got married they had to give up Louie, the kid they adopted.. almost adopted anyhow. That wasn't long after the miscarriage.
So he had been thinking lately. For a few days he had been bottling up everything, like he always does. Herrmann eventually figured it out and they talked, and the older firefighter supported him. He knew that he had to finally get it off his chest; and he knew that he had to tell the woman soon. He wanted to be a father so much and he knew Gabby felt the same way about being a mother. âI know its only been a few weeks-â He paused, taking a deep breath, resting his right hand on her cheek. âI am ready. I want to try for a baby... again.âÂ

â â   Even the best laid plans can have a wrench thrown in. Michael expected those but, never thought that Sara would be that wrench. He figured heâd get away with a few nice words here, a smile there and get what he needed. The fact that she was witty, smart and managed to keep him on his toes    (both literally and figuratively)   helped or hindered depending on how you looked at it. Michaelâ well, at times he let his mind wander to when this wasnât his life. When things were  ânormalâ  if that was ever going to be the case again. A quiet restaurant a few years down the road and maybe just maybe sheâd give him a shot but, deep down and underneath his shirt Michael knew normal was never going to happen. He made damn sure of that the moment he stepped foot in Fox River.
Keeping distance was hard when he had to see her every day. Day in and day out Michael would walk in and see this doctorâ who would always look at him like there was something just under the surface that he was hiding.   (if she only knew)   Inside his head was a puzzle, his entire world was a puzzle and no one could put it together. Michael lived each day trying to figure out the pieces, needing to figure out the piecesâ when one was missing he  N E E D E D   to find that piece. But, for this plan   (this puzzle)   each piece was packaged together beforehand in a pretty package. It was just a matter of making them fit together at just the right time.
Sara was part of that puzzle, part of something that she didnât know about.   (Michaelâs need to save his brother)   His desire to make sure that he wasnât going to die for a crime he didnât commit even if Lincoln was more than reserved and okay with the fact that he was going to death. It was something that Scofield just couldnât give up on.
Daily shotsâ fake diabetes. It was dangerous and if Michael had to do this long enough it would cause serious damage but, he didnât plan on being in Fox River long. That was the plan anywaysâ   (the best laid plans sometimes run into snags though)
âYou know Sara this really doesnât seem like the kind of place you would work at. Are you doing it to get back at your father for something ORââ   Theyâd had this conversation before.   â Be the change â   He remembered but, it was always a good opening. Plus, it kept the conversation artfully away from him, a place that he DID NOT want the topic to steer. Especially since Sara found out about his relation to Linc.
