Happy World Vegan Day! November 1 is a very special day and @gretathunberg will be at City Hall today at noon to lead active youth on a climate strike march and rally. Not only is Greta an incredible voice for action urging government leaders and youth to take steps immediately to help earth’s climate, she leads by example living a vegan lifestyle. My good friend Louie Psihoyos has many fantastic quotes but this one is most poignant for today. “A vegan driving a hummer has less negative impact on the environment than a meat-eater riding a bicycle.” Think about that. Deforestation, animal agriculture, and eating animal products are things each person can have a positive impact on by minimizing or eliminating consumption altogether. Combined with driving Eco-friendly cars and/ or taking public transportation can also have a dramatic positive impact on individual (then of course - collective) emission of CO2. We got into this together and only by making positive changes each day, can we change the course of the planet and help preserve earth for future generations. That is what today is all about. Coming together. Presenting positive opportunities. And taking action.
