Benj, what are you doin’, pal? ❜ so, looking out for Benji at parties has sort of become Ethan’s THING. he can’t help himself. the guy is adorable as fuck, but he’s not super reliable on thinking things through. which is to be expected of a lot of college aged people, but Ethan feels particularly protective over his roommate. ❛ I think you’ve had enough, bud. time to get down now. ❜

honestly, he knew what would happen. after that night they'd said they wouldn't talk about it again. he wasn't embarrassed, but he knew things had changed with alec. the last thing he wanted was to make things worse so he agreed. of course it had to come at the end of a fight and wasn't really one of their finest moments but it had worked. or he'd thought that it had worked. there were still plenty of times when he thought about alec, about that night, and it hurt. but that was what they'd agreed to and while he did try to move on with others nothing really felt right. even going back to his old habits of having one night stands didn't feel right. jace knew that this was what they'd agreed to and it wouldn't matter what he said nothing would change alec's mind. though, a part of him was hoping that this might help. it could make things ten times worse but he figured it definitely couldn't hurt things. they didn't undo the parabatai bond because they had a falling out. no, they'd be forced to deal with it somehow and this would probably be the first of many times they would need to find ways of dealing with it. that was if this failed in the first place. now that he was in his room, he knew just what had to be done. once he was undressed, he stood in front of his mirror and took the pic. without even thinking about it he sent it off to alec before grabbing his sweats. there were a few things he wanted to read first and moving over to the table he put his phone aside.

the knock was and wasn't unexpected, and leaning back in his chair, he waited to see if it was alec or if it was someone else that needed his attention. seeing the familiar hair and face of his parabatai the grin on his face grew. "was it though?" technically he knew it was and that he shouldn't be sending it to the head of the institute. but alec was more than that to him and he knew alec wouldn't punish him for it. at least he didn't think he would. time would definitely tell in this case. "well, i mean i know you're weak for me," jace teased, knowing that he probably should've apologised and should've said they needed to talk. but talking had never really been his thing. actions were easier. actions spoke louder, too, and he'd hoped in this instance it would help him. "why would i send that to you if it were meant for someone else? it was definitely meant for you, alec." his way of saying he was sorry in the hopes they could put it all behind them.

“What, exactly, is your plan?” He asked with a polite, although entirely insincere, smile. It hadn’t taken long for the news to reach Raphael, he had Vampires all through the city reporting back to him and Sugar’s plan was exciting. It spread quickly. 

It would, without a doubt, cause trouble.

      I’ll be the first person to tell you I am a person of very high emotions. The past 18mo, give or take, have helped me come to terms with that & understand that while my feels are valid, they’re not always appropriate, & so I’ve had to find ways of tempering them in a healthy & productive way. That being said, when something does get to me, it often affects me very deeply & for a significant amount of time. 

      I’m only just finding Alec’s voice again - truly finding it & not just formulaically wandering through his drafts with whatever is easiest so I can fill a queue. I know I largely lost Alec because of a combination of extremely high stress & lack of adequate communication on my part, as well some other factors - so putting myself on a schedule & spending minimal time on the dash has helped me significantly, because frankly this website is often very, very unhealthy & getting to have a life outside of my hobby has helped me significantly. 

      Additionally, I’ve realized that one of the things that gets to me the most is the amount of passive aggressive behavior this site has normalized, & I finally understand why many of my friends have included things in their rules regarding it because while I might not have noticed its toll, it definitely took one on me - hence the recent addition to my rules, & a not insignificant amount of self reflection regarding my own past behavior because like I said, it feels pretty normalized on here some days. 

“don’t worry. I’ve done this a million times.” greyson smirks, looking up at the other and bandaging up the pup’s leg carefully, “usually on people, but i think the skill is translatable.” he adds with a cocky wink and continues working, “what’s his name?” his voice lifts curiously, he’d been meaning to get a pet for molly since they’d moved into their new apartment, but between work, school events, pta meetings, and everything else he’d never gotten around to it. “that should do it.” he adds, standing again and watching the pup steady himself on his leg, “i’m greyson, by the way.”
