The fifth World Nomad Games are set to begin in Astana, Kazakhstan, from Sept 8th – 14th, 2024. Featuring national sports, cultural activities, and a Nomads-themed conference, highlights include horse races, wrestling, martial arts, and archery. Expecting 3,000 athletes from 100 countries, the games aim to preserve nomadic heritage.

One of my best memories from #Kyrgyzstan was meeting Zura, a wise lady from the Naryn region. The 56-year-old woman is a doctor, lawyer and teacher and holds a highly respected position in her village's committee. Kyrgz women are such strong characters, I have so much respect for them! #discoverkyrgyzstan #WorldNomadGames #WNG2016 (at Cholpon-Ata)
Sadly the #WorldNomadGames have come to an end. The biggest match of the games was the Kok boru (headless sheep polo) Finals, with Kyrgyzstan playing against Kazakhstan. It was a battle of the finest and the two teams truly gave it their all. I felt so privileged to be there and see #Kyrgyzstan clinch the title and win the trophy! #WNG2016 #discoverkyrgyzstan (at Cholpon-Ata)
