Furiosa was good, but we need to stop doing prequels. No more prequels for 10 years. I would so much rather watch a movie about how they rebuilt society at the Citadel after the water broke

Hello! I love the little clay animals you posted a few months ago. I recently got into polymer clay and now want to experiment with different types of clay (ideally something that doesn't involve baking plastic in my house 😅😅). I'd love to hear your experience working with paper clay, if you don't mind! Is it relatively easy to use? Is it pretty sturdy? Thanks!
hey no problem! i havent worked with polymer clay in a long time so idk how difficult it is to use comparatively.. but paper clay can be a little bit difficult imo, at least compared to "real" clay
having some tools to help with the shaping makes it much much easier though - and the same type of tools are often used for both polymer and paper clay!
the clay itself is both sturdy and not sturdy. if a figurine has few part that stick out you can drop it on the floor without problems. if it does have parts that stick out they tend to break off when they get hit. the easiest way to make sure this doesnt happen is to have some support beneath the clay (like metal wire + aluminum foil if its a thicker part) and to make sure the connection to the main body of the clay figure isnt too thin. on some animals ive made with longer tails the tail lies against the animals body for some extra support and sturdiness. oh, and the finished figures can be sensitive to water even if theyre sealed!
a lot of the shapes i use is mostly because its easier to do with the clay, i try to work with the material instead of struggling to do something with it it doesnt want to do haha
this already turned out kinda long, but if theres anything else just let me know!
Hellooooo thoughts on the Lunar Chronicles overall? I saw your post about picking up Winter again. I read the series a while ago and enjoyed it immensely. Haven't heard much about it from others-- would love to hear your thoughts!
I'm really enjoying it! It scratches a lot of itches for me (fairy tale princesses/heroines turned sideways, sci fi/fantasy all mixed together, Sailor Moon vibes/influence, cyborg Cinderella, Little Red taming the Big Bad Wolf, Snow White capturing the heart of her huntsman, etc etc) and I love the whole cast and the story that's being told which I think is where a lot of what does frustrate me comes from--because I want more. I want to actually get a full sense of who these characters are, to themselves and to each other, and I wish each of the relationships had more room to breathe and grow.
That said, it's a frustration I'd much rather have than the things that frustrate me about the Grishaverse, for example, so honestly I'll take it (provided the ending of Winter doesn't pull something I'm not anticipating that would make me sour on everything else, but I don't think it will). I think there are things that could have been done better, but for what it is and what it's trying to be I am loving it and I think it's a shame that it doesn't seem to have more of a fanbase because I just know I'm gonna be deeply hungering for fanfic to fill some of the gaps that will remain in the overall narrative, given the scope and what still must be accomplished vs how much of the last book is left.
I can definitely see myself rereading this series in the future to mine for more nuggets I might then use for a fanfic or two of my own, though, which in this case is a compliment! (As opposed to some series' where it's like "I'm writing fanfic to fix this shit (derogatory)" lmao)
Hello! I love all the questions you've been getting about communicating about Ramadan in Arabic with Muslims. As a Muslim, it warms my heart 💜.
It did make me realize that maybe your non-Muslim readers don't know the varied relationship Muslims around the world have with Arabic?
While I'm sure your readers know that not all Muslims speak Arabic, they might not know that there are Arabic words/phrases that are commonly used by most Muslims. Which might initially make someone think that a Muslim they're talking to speaks Arabic. But that's not always the case. So if someone responds to a "Ramadan Mubarak!", that may not mean they understand more custom sentences you've been practicing.
Please ignore this ask if you don't think it'll benefit your followers! It was just something that occurred to me when reading some of the truly lovely asks you've received about sentences to use when communicating about Ramadan. All the best! 💜
Hello, dear!
Ramadan Kareem!
I agree with you, there are differences among Arabic speakers and there are common phrases that are used by Arabic speakers and also non-Arabic speaking Muslims. You’re brining an interesting point, so thank you for this message.
You're making me consider binge catching up on Superstore 😅😅😆
omg... seriously even if the show is hit or miss, the finale literally hit on every single level possible. i have never been so satisfied with a series finale in my life.

I'd love to hear why this is your favorite animation cut scene!
mens-rights-activia(.)tumblr(.)com/post/629589919262801920/mobpsycho100-this-is-probably-my-most-favorite
it looks like shinya ohiira did this one on acid thats why.
(non joking answer: im in love with the concept and imagination at display here. theres a lot to love, animating things that arnt real (like the firework people and howls transformation) i think show a real mastery of your craft and the way ohiira went about it blows my mind everytime i see this cut. i LOVE how they approached howls transformation to his demon bird form and how theres touches of realism to the way his glove gets ripped up as his body changes, the fabric looks so real! and its followed up by very exaggerated animation with his body flowing up and around almost like water. not to mention the effects animation with the fireworks all around, also fantastic. one last thing, i think it says a lot about the level of animation at display here when hayao miyazaki, the man known for correcting other animators work all the damn time cause hes not satisfied with the quality, p much leaves ohiiras work untouched and you’ll notice hes one of the only animators whos work he respects so much even he doesnt go around tryna improve it. thats how much of a godly animator shinya ohiira is.
What kind of stuff have you been writing lately?
I’ve been co-writing some upcoming novellas under the name J. Bartholomew Hivemind. I have written all the mini-stories currently up on the @jbhivemind tumblr.
I’ve also been writing comics that will soon be featured on @thefoggiestcomic including a horror western called ‘Ghost Town’ and a super serious seafaring story called ‘Tugboats Are Cool.’
On top of all this, I’ve written a lot of the short videos over at @mintpineapple and the ones I didn’t write, I probably did a sneaky rewrite or two on. A time travel short I made called ‘Skip’ will be playing at the Chattanooga Film Festival.
Lastly, I wrote this answer.
My specialties include comic misunderstandings, complicated time travel, some third thing, and messing up rule of three jokes.
