Chris & I celebrated Valentine's Day by loving on the great outdoors with another adventure couple (@wherethewildsinghsare) at Rocky Mountain National Park. # We traded our downhill skis & snowboards for backcountry skiing (me), backcountry splitboard (chris) & snowshoes (friends). After being out of my normal gym routine for the last 13 days, it felt so good to challenge myself in a different way than downhill skiing. I used some different muscles, got my heart rate up, enjoyed a beautiful backdrop & saw some moose in the process. #workoutwin # Since my hip overuse injury the past year or so, my cardio training has been seriously lacking. I love running but too much bothers my hip. And let's be real, I'm a fair weather runner. No more running in 6 inches of snow. One of my goals is to incorporate a variety of "cardio" options into my routine this year. I'm seeing some cross county skiing, snowshoeing and hiking in my future.
