Empty labs at 7 am on Easter Monday.
I hate crowds, if someone is peeking over my shoulder, or when I need to hurry to free the spot in the lab for the next person.
I focus the best when I am in the lab alone.

Working Alone
Most people don’t become solitary overnight.
They arrive there.
It begins with cooperation.
A request. An agreement. A promise to help.
“Yes, of course.” “I’ve got it.” “Don’t worry.”
But agreement is not alignment.
Enthusiasm is not precision.
People often volunteer without understanding the standard required. They underestimate the detail. They underestimate the discipline. They underestimate the vision.
And then the cycle begins:
Adjust. Clarify. Correct. Recalibrate.
Not once. Repeatedly.
Across environments.
Home. Work. Family. Community.
It is not hostility that drains you.
It is approximation.
The quiet realization that what was offered as help requires supervision.
And supervision costs more than execution.
So eventually, you stop agreeing to be helped.
Not because you dislike people.
But because you value coherence.
“If you’re not going to do it right, don’t do it.”
That is not arrogance.
It is efficiency.
Some people are comfortable with “good enough.”
Others operate with vision.
And vision is specific.
It has proportions. Sequence. Timing. Standard.
A vision cannot be partially executed without becoming something else.
So you begin to prefer environments where:
Instructions are understood once. Roles are respected. Precision is normal.
Not because you want control.
But because you see clearly.
Working alone is not isolation.
It is alignment between thought and outcome.
And when alignment is rare, solitude feels functional.

Day 5 of me working alone.
So far, so good. This is my last day before vacation, so I'm thinking of just drinking a lot after work today.

Day 4 of working alone.
I actually had a thought yesterday, and I wondered to myself, why am I bothering to come into work at my prescribed time when there's no one here to check that I actually do my working hours.
Day 3 of working alone. Yesterday I think went better than Monday, but Wednesday's are always the worst day, so let's see.
So, now we're over halfway through my day at work.
I've done about 1 and a half hours of work and another 2 hours of staring listlessly at my computer because there's no one around to stop me, haha.
