What Teto Doin’?

I am thrilled to see that MasterChef is celebrating immigrants, in the best way, with the MasterChef Global Gauntlet!!! They have divided the world into 4 regions, and they are having a global cooking competition, celebrating the authenticity and culture of each cook's heritage!!! I love hearing the contestants tell the story of how their relatives came to America to live a better life, through storytelling, photos, and food... that's so beautiful!! That's what this country used to be about, and it's still very important to me... it's nice to see that the American dream is alive and well on Masterchef!!! I hope this reminds my fellow Americans, who have lost sight of what truly matters, that we are a country composed of people from all over the world, and that we are a country that gives good, hard working people the opportunity to live a good life!! I hope it reminds my fellow Americans, who have lost their way, that we should always welcome immigrants with open arms, open hearts, and open minds!! I say this because all of the Americans, who are not Native Americans, are the immigrants, of which I speak.

It gives me hope to see immigrants celebrated, as they should be... this country was built on the backs of hard working immigrants, and they should be honored, respected, and celebrated!!! Thank you, MasterChef, for reminding us of how important all the cultures of the world are and for sharing all that joy and love with us all, through food!! I have always been proud to be an American because we are a melting pot of people and their cultures, and we embraced all people from all countries!! I loved that we all lived together, and we all shared our lives and cultures, as we did!! It's nice to see that again and feel proud again... it's been a while...

Never before have we needed to see a celebration of all the people from around the world, who have settled in America, as much as we do, right now!! Thank you, MasterChef!!!

The love of working together and trusting each other transcends our occupations. We don't live in a bubble and our thoughts, beliefs and actions affect those around us. I try to remember that as I go about my day and have been responding more than reacting.

I was thinking about that as a bunch of folks spent this weekend participating in the #48hourpuppetfilmproject and recalling countless hours of collaborative creativity in my "work."
