I said "it's about the familiarity" yesterday and it really truly is
It's the familiarity in them bickering during the prison break
It's dream not reacting like anything is out of place when they're arguing
It's ranboo being in prison "complicating things"
It's the way soulboo asks ghostboo if he's heard from him and ghostboo says he hadn't heard from him in weeks even though he had died months ago at that point
It's the way neither ghostboo or soulboo wonder why dream hasn't just revived him on his own, he's just wondering why no one has asked yet
It's the way dream said he didn't care if ranboo died but he brings up ranboo's death in all but one of the prison streams
It's the moment of silence between Sam asking what happened the day the prison exploded and Dream answering.
It's the way ranboo was trusted with the prison blueprints
It's the "are you here to take me back? Is it finally time??" When he saw someone vaguely dream shaped, like he already knew he would have to wait
It's the familiarity.
No because imagine losing your memory and then getting them back and realizing that your friend made a bunch of copies of you that were made with the purpose of following his orders
People be like "never listen to dream he always lies" unless it's the most batshit lie you've ever heard in your life that literally doesn't make sense with his established character if you think about it for more than two seconds, no then he was absolutely being serious and there's absolutely no way he was lying about his true motives
I'm glad Wilbur ended his character's story like this, y'all needed to be humbled

I can completely get how the lost city of mizu happened
Like I can completely understand how inconsistencies in how characters remember events and the records of those events being not quite right and the missing pieces and missing perspectives and the person recording the history not quite remembering said history correctly and the records not matching with everything we see and everything else would turn into the shitshow of history we saw in that tales episode
like sometimes i’m turning the attachment vault in my brain and then it’s c!Dream and c!Ranboo staring each other down while the others are taking Dream to prison and that was pretty weird right but then it’s no not really actually and then it’s remembering the whole attachment vault was a setup to get dream in the prison for because reasons and then it’s oh yeah remember ranboo deadass had the discs in his possession at some point and then it’s fuck that, ranboo left the directions to the damn place and then it’s ranboo randomly just walked to the attachment vault by accident and started reciting lines he wasn’t there to hear and then it’s what the hell is going on what the hell what the hell what the hell
