#2608 - Craspedia uniflora - Woollyhead
Craspedia is from the Greek ‘Kraspedon’, meaning an edge, hem or border, because of the woolly fringes of the leaves of the type species. Uniflora refers to the single flowerhead.
C. uniflora was the first species described for the genus, in 1786. There are 22 other species (more if Pycnosorus is folded back into Craspedia), found in many habitats in Aotearoa and Australia.
