Hot Take, I do not give a FLYING FUCK about the feelings of kids online, because they always invade places where theyāre not the audience.
I donāt know if I brought it up here, but around Christmas, there were kids on TikTok watching the Elf on the Shelf parent videos, and commenting bs like āSanta i-isnāt realā¦? š„ŗā. The replies were always split 50/50, between āDonāt worry, the elves just get tired sometimes! š
ā and āBro, of course the elves arenāt realā. I personally agree with the latter, because as much as itās a hard pill for some to swallow, ANYONE UNDER 12 SHOULD NOT BE ON TIKTOK. Youāre under that age and on TikTok? Thatās what you get for trying to be grown, your childhood gets ruined. On top of that, I thought this was just a Christmas issue, but apparently this continues with such famous lies like the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy.
Itās this same issue that I have with me watching indie shows, and I think that this part is one a lot more of us can agree with. KIDS. RUIN. INDIE. SHOWS. Indie Shows are a Mature Teen and Adult audience, like Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss, Murder Drones, and The Amazing Digital Circus. I do my best to enjoy them alone, but then you have my very young sister trying to butt her way in and learn about the shows. Yes, the songs are catchy, and yes, itās colorful, but that doesnāt mean itās for kids! I hate how weāve reached a point in time where anything 2D and colorful is automatically assumed to be for kids. Itās the reason why we need to add so much violence and cursing and vulgarity into these shows. Itās something Vivziepop gets criticism for, but I think itās a protection thing. If Angel Dust didnāt make a sex joke or BlitzĆø didnāt drop a F-Bomb within the first 5 seconds a parent puts on a show like that, the kids would be left to watch it. Even then, itās all ignored as people turn our beloved Indie shows into content farms and slop, a major reason why people who watch TADC are called cornballs despite being OGāS since the pilot. It ruins our reputation.
Lastly, the internet exposure is ruining how kids grow up. I started getting the gist of what sex was in 6th grade, when the boys in my class started trading potty humor for sexual humor. The worst part, the girls joined in on things like that too, a stark contrast from how they strayed away from the boysā shenanigans in elementary. It was that grade when I realized I was asexual, and thanks to that, Iām gonna go my whole teen years hearing āyouāre too young to knowā if I tell anyone Iām ace. I guarantee you, I wouldāve had that same realization later on, but alas. And thatās just me being Gen āZalphaā, I worry for the later generations and how grown theyāre gonna start acting.
I did not mean to write a college essay, but in summary, kids online piss me off. If YouTube Kids stayed normal, we woulda been fine. 1 like = 1 IPad kid to punt (Jk, Iām not gonna beg for interaction like a loser)
