Which shouldn’t only be interpreted as “Tom let’s Star be free with whom she really wants to be”, because that’d make it sound like Star can’t get with Marco until Tom allows her to, but as “let’s all stop doing things we don’t really enjoy only because admitting that you were wrong is hard”. Star and Tom like each other, to an extent, had decent reasons to get back together, to an extent, just like Tom enjoyed the dragoncycle as long as they were just driving slowly around, but they’re clearly not fit for anything more serious, not just because they don’t work well together, but because it’s not what either of them wants! 

Also this connects with the theme in Junkin’ Janna: being with Star weighs Tom down, limits his potential because he feels like he has to do stuff with Star to be “a good person”, even when he doesn’t enjoy it, and it’s now time for him to find his own way, to find what he really enjoys. Marco did it (not that he has everything in his life figured out obviously, but he’s in a good direction), Star did it in the past and she’s going to do it again now that her life changed again, and Tom can do it only once he breaks up with Star. I’ve been saying it since S3, and now the series outright told us that.
