1. How do you choose your titles? Is there a method/pattern you use?

it’s kind of just a gut thing, but i do always want the titles to be layered. “heart rise above” comes from a landslide lyric (”can the child within my heart rise above”), which is the central theme of the story; moving past our childhoods and into adulthood/letting go but forgiving, etc. 

"stealing home" is both a baseball term and is meant to refer to the concept of homes, which is the overarching theme for the story. especially coming at it as a role reversal, “where you’re from” defining who you are vs. who you’re not was a really interesting jump off point for me. to “steal home” outside of sports lingo refers to “return home” and, without revealing too much, is meant to be about how the characters become more themselves throughout. 

"the winged beast" refers to the butterfly effect, which was the concept behind that fic. less nuanced, lmao. 

3. If you were to write a sequel to any story, which would it be and what shape would it take?

ah, I feel that! I love when my cousin visits, too. albeit, he’s a wastoid teenage boy, but I love him. 💜
