Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. Saturday night the power got shut off. A sheriff came up to my gate to tell me to evacuate and if I didn’t, they would not come back, i was on my own. The few remaining people up here on the ranch (3,000 acres) all left. I was the only one for miles. Maybe it is bad to say, but it was pretty awesome being the only one here. No power, no communication. I waited. I watched the wind and the smoke, slept outside, watched waited. I got lucky this time. It was stressful, but its all ok now. I had inacted my plan, water on the roof....it was a serious fire drill. Now I know what I have to do to be more prepared, upgrade my systems. The dogs had a hard time. They wanted to run, they were very agitated. I know they knew I wouldn’t leave them, it was profound, the bond, they know. The ravens stayed with me, helped me get a bead on what was happening. Thank you. Grateful. #woodswoman #wolfmama #wolfwrangler #climatechange is upon us. Please do whatever you think to prepare now. One of my favorite Tibetan sayings is, ‘Don’t wait till you have to take a shit to dig the outhouse.” It is referring to the inevitability of our death, but good wisdom, applies to many levels. #norcal https://www.instagram.com/p/B4VERxMhPDi/?igshid=6ztuyrjrpi8e
