Prequel

I realized the comics are... a lot. So I decided to make a short summary of my Wolfram x Raubahn ship. As I started to write I realized it was also... a lot. So clearly WolfBahn is simply... a lot. Eh, this is still way less to read than the comics, enjoy.

Warnings - imperfect neurodivergent protagonist, voidsent, domestic argument that turned a teeny tiny bit physical

Ul'dah

Wolfram Vought and Raubahn Aldynn met 15 years before A Realm Reborn at ages 25/29 in Thanalan. Wolfram (A recently reformed bandit, Gyr Abanian refugee, and the future Warrior of Light) wanted gladiator training as he was accustomed to a rapier. Raubahn, a gladiator (for the guild, not a prisoner), just thought he was trying to pick him up after a tourney. They ended up talking and hit it off almost instantly, bonding over being from the same country, shared interests, and good ol' fashioned Garlean hatred. After hours of walking around Ul'dah conversing, Rau had given up on his assumption that Wolf was interested in him romantically but was happy to have a new friend. Demisexual Wolfram just needed a bit of time to get to know him and surprised Raubahn with a kiss after they had talked all night. Wolfram decided to stay in Ul'dah, but not as a gladiator. He became a cook at the Quicksand.

They fell in love unnaturally quickly and lived together happily for 2 years. Raubahn appreciated Wolf's sincerity, sense of humor, and being non-judgemental and supportive. He even enjoyed his empathic abilities. Wolfram loved how the gladiator could keep him grounded, admired his heroic nature, that he helped him calm down during panic attacks, and generally made him feel safe (the dude has trauma™). They were great friends as well as partners. Wolfram taught Raubahn how to cook. Raubahn taught Wolfram more fighting techniques. They enjoyed sparring and fighting monsters. Exploring together. They’d a whole future planned out. Wolfram was going to propose they be eternally bonded, but couldn't in good conscience until he told Raubahn about his past. One night, after a horrible nightmare, he confessed. 

6 years prior, the Decurio who led the small group of Garleans occupying his village requested Wolfram’s young sister’s hand in marriage in exchange for going easier on the family’s inn. He overheard his parents considering the offer. Wolf had been secretly studying his grandmother’s tomes on void magic and in his anger summoned a hellhound. Something went wrong and the voidsent that arrived was far more powerful than he could control. It possessed him and forced him to watch as it transformed, using his body to not only kill the Garleans but his whole village, including his family. His Mhachi grandmother did a ritual to bind it before her death, saying it was still within him and he would have to control his emotions to keep it imprisoned. (He didn't mention to Rau that the voidsent often talked to him.) Wolf then fled to The Black Shroud and became a bandit while adjusting to his new reality.

A Realm Reborn

13 years after Wolfram and Raubahn had broken up, Wolf knew full well that he was still in love and would never move on. Frequently hearing news about the famous Flame General of Ul'dah probably hadn't helped matters. He'd made a sort of peace with it and was living as an adventurer in Limsa Lominsa, helping others in order to atone for his past. He and his friend X’Rhun Tia, trained red mages on the rare occasion they had an apprentice. Otherwise, Wolfram's time was usually spent working for the guild or doing odd jobs for the Admiral to pay the bills while Rhun traveled.

During one such job, Wolf stumbled upon a plot by the Serpent Reaver pirates to kidnap people and have them enthralled by the Sahagain god Leviathan. After saving the day, Admiral Merlwyb threw a banquet with the adventurer as her honored guest. It was here that Wolf revealed a crystal he had found to the city leader and his new acquaintance Y’Shtola. They talked about the Warriors of Light that had helped during the Calamity. He was told he held a Crystal of Light and was the vessel of a higher power. Once getting some clarification Wolfram burst out laughing. Obviously, someone tainted like him wouldn't be chosen by a powerful and benevolent goddess. Despite his skepticism, Y'Shtola invited him to meet with the leader of her organization.

After meeting Minfillia, he was relieved to learn about the Echo - it meant the voidsent hadn't been getting stronger as it had claimed. Wolfram joined the Scions to study his mysterious power and help people on a larger scale. However, he couldn't deny that another motivation for joining the was to potentially see his ex-partner again (without the threat of jail, given the Scions' political standing). Having an Echo vision of Carteneau was honestly a bit too much Raubahn for Wolfram to shake off.

A Realm Reborn - Patches

Part 2 - A Realm Reborn I realized the comics are... a lot. So I decided to make a short summary of my Wolfram x Raubahn ship. As I started to write I realized it was also... a lot. So clearly WolfBahn is simply... a lot. Eh, this is still way less to read than the comics, enjoy.

After defeating Gaius van Baelsar and helping the Scions set up the Rising Stones, Wolf turned his focus to the conflict in Ul'dah. He often found himself worried about how Raubahn was handling everything given how awful his political opponents were. After a particularly upsetting Syndicate meeting about the Doman refugees, Wolfram decided to throw away professionalism and asked his former partner on a treasure hunt in the Cieldalaes in the hopes of lifting his spirits. The General was surprised by the invite almost as much as having someone express care for his emotional well-being. It was an increasingly rare occurrence to be treated as a person instead of a legend. 

Fighting together on Hullbreaker Isle without thought for alliances or politics Wolfram and Raubahn fell back into familiarity with ease. The thrill of adventure for its own sake was a treat for them both. Between battles they were able to talk openly and quickly felt themselves becoming confidants. The alliance continued after returning to the mainland - often discussing things that they probably shouldn't have like the Warrior of Light revealing everything the Scions were up to and the General discussing Ul’dahn political strategy. Wolf even tried to convince him to invade Gyr Abania, but was receptive to Raubahn’s concerns. Despite the disagreement, the gladiator enjoyed being around someone who reminded him of his younger self and helped re-ignite his passion to pursue his goal of freeing Ala Mhigo with more urgency. 

Hiya! I do a bit of everything FFXIV-related, but mostly comics of my WoL Wolfram (40yo Male Highlander Spellblade), Housing Builds, and GPosing. Also, I'm one of those surprisingly rare Raubahn shippers! I'm totally normal about them. 😅

Wolfram Saga Comics

Teenage Wolfram and Klaus walking around the ruins of Schism. Wolf looking unamused. Klaus talking excitedly “- and her parents taught her to weave! You should have seen her shawl. The embroidery was -” Note - ‘Wolfram Age 16 Burdened Eldest Brother’ ‘Klaus Age 15 Carefree Younger Brother’

Wolf annoyed “*Really?!* Are girls all you think about these days? The business is failing, that bastard king destroyed the very place we walk, there are rumors of Garleans at the Western borders, our sister's run off again, and your mind travels to the new neighbor?”

A) Klaus frowns “Come now, Wolf. It's not as if there's anything I can do about those other things.” B) Wolf looks over, hurt frown “You could show others how angry I know you are so I'm not alone.”

Klaus smiles sadly and puts a hand on Wolf’s back in comfort “What's the point in showing anger? If this is really about Grandpa, I miss him too. I wasn't there, but there was nothing you could have done for him.” Wolf sighs in defeat “Funny, I'm the one with the gift, but it's as if you're reading me. It was his time. I know I couldn't save him…my mind knows anyroad.”

A) Klaus smiles “Well have your mind tell your body to stop moping about and sleeping all day, yeah?” B) Wolf embarrassed, defensive “I'm just tired is all. I have to work more than you since I'm not worth teaching. Worry about your studies, not me.”

A) Wolf smiles, deflecting “Anyroad, tell me about the Roegadyn girl.” Thought ‘Perhaps if I smile enough they'll all stop asking if I'm okay.’ B) Klaus beams “Ah! Well she's sooo tall and pretty. I saw her light a torch and she didn't even need a ladder!”

Wolf laughs “Really?! That's what you're into? A gal who can tower over you?” Klaus smug “Nothing wrong with appreciating someone for their strengths… in her case both figurative and literal.”

A) Klaus smiles encouragingly - "You'll understand when you have a girlfriend." B) Wolf smirks, chuckling - "I don't want a girlfriend."

Klaus elbows him, laughing - "Or a boyfriend. You know what I meant." Wolf scoffs - "I don't want one of those either. Everyone around here is so boring."

A) Klaus pouts - "Well I think Falling Blossom is interesting." B) Wolf smirks - "I'm sure she is. Good luck with your courting or whatever." Thought ‘Sounds perfectly normal - boring.’

A) Klaus looks off, stars in eyes "I bet she’d have to pick me up to kiss.” B) Wolf snorts “I wouldn't suggest saying that to her. Compliment her actions - the things she got to choose.”

Klaus glances at Wolf curiously "What do you know about woo-ing women? Have you even kissed anyone yet?"

A) Wolf scoffs matter-of-factly "No. If everyone around here is boring why would I want to kiss them?" B) Klaus confused "Well, you know…because they're pretty? Or handsome. Whatever."

Wolf shrugs “A person simply having good looks doesn't make me interested. If you have an idea to change that I'd hear it. Dad’s already said he's worried about me…and then told me a bunch of other things I have no use for.”

Klaus ponders "You're just… odd. Maybe it works in reverse for you? If you kiss someone first you'll start to like them? What about trying with inn guests? There are often travelers our age and it won't be awkward since they’ll leave.”

Wolf ponders "Worth a try. I suppose it makes sense… I didn't like mushrooms until you snuck them into those flatbread the other day." Klaus chuckles "Aye, it's exactly like that."

Zoomed out shot as they're almost to the main area. Off camera shriek. They run.

Young girl facing a large Spector. 

She dodges an attack.

A) Little fist colliding with the Spector’s face. B) Spector fading .

Ana smirks proudly “That arsehole snuck up on me while I was playing with its friend. Coward. So, is dinner ready then?” Note - 'Ana - Age 9 - Rowdy Little Sister'

Klaus chuckles, a hand on his chakram belt. “Language, miss.” Wolf holding his sword, looking serious. He was just ready for battle. “Hells, let's get out of here. Your cry will have drawn more. Without magic we won't be able to fight them all.”

Wolf picks Ana up, looking at her in amusement - “I'm not sure this is what Mum meant when she was explaining the importance of the spirits here finding rest.” Ana grinning “I'm quicker than waiting on some ol’ geezer to light incense or what-have-you.”

Wolf walking out giving Ana a piggyback ride. Klaus dusting off her shoulder, smiling - “So, warrior priestess, after dinner I'll read you an extra story while Wolf does the dishes if you promise not to tell our parents we let you fight the dead.” Ana grins “I want a story from Wolfie! He makes them up just for me!” Wolf grins “Fine, but no more gladiator stories. I'm clearly being a bad influence.” Thought ‘Gods, I just want to sleep.’

1. Favorite Vegetable - Cauliflower. Specifically roasted, fried, or in curries. 😋

2. How many blankets on bed? - One, which he will hog if it's cold.

3. Do they know how to set a table? - He worked at inns, so yes, but also that's really dependant on culture so he would probably adjust depending on where he was and ask questions if he didn't know.

4. If they had to dye their hair another color, what would it be? - Something unnatural - maybe teal or deep purple? But he prefers his natural black hair.

5. Generally how much would they tip at a restaurant? - As long as they didn't do anything majorly wrong? 20% minimum every time.

6. What gas station food do they buy for themselves? - Flaming Hot Cheetos and coconut water.

7. What gas station food do they buy for someone else? - Whatever they ask for? I bet Raubahn likes beef jerky.

8. Least Favorite Smell - Burning flesh, it's kind of a lesser trigger. 😅🥹

9. Is there something distinct about their teeth? - Other than the miracle that they're all still intact? No.

10. What pyramid scheme are they most likely to fall for? - None, he's naturally pretty suspicious of that kind of thing. If someone was begging on the street without needing the money he would definitely fall for that.

11. Favorite Soup - Chili (fight me!) 😈

12. Least Favorite Instrument - Does not exist, he loves music. Favorite is guitar.

13. They buy 5 things at the grocery store. What are they? - Chicken thighs, tomatoes, onions, chilis, garam masala.

14. What temperature so they keep their thermostat at? - IRL would be 69 (winter, laughing as he sets it), 72 (summer). Raubahn turns it up when he's not looking though. 😂

15. In what order do they get dressed? [socks, underwear, pants] - Underwear, shirt, pants, socks, jacket, weapons. ⚔️

16. Favorite Tree - 😏 After that NSFW shoot I have to say Palm trees...

17. Are they good at wrapping presents? - Does putting it in a cute bag count?

18. Do they have any food allergies, or the cilantro gene? - No allergies but he does suffer from the cilantro gene. 😔

19. How do they kiss? [Chaste, too much tongue.] - I guess he's a bit of a lip sucker/nibbler? Often giving forehead, neck, and shoulder kisses as well. Also why is this on the list? 😳

20. How do they handle an awkward moment in front of others? - Cracks a joke, trying to lighten the mood. It is often inappropriate and completely backfires. 😅

21. What is the gross habit they have but no one knows about? - Doesn't sweep up clipped nails. 🤷‍♀️

22. Would they be able to parallel park? - Yes, eventually, but a bit stressful so he avoids it.

23. What is a niche YouTube genre they would enjoy? [asmr, mukbang, etc] - He'd definatley be addicted to recipe videos. Notifications enabled for Epicurious. 👨‍🍳

24. If they were going to make fun of someone, what would it be for? - He's very sarcastic, so just about anything. He likes teasing Raubahn and knows how to make him blush so will often whisper things to him before he has to give a speech. Very amused watching his husband trying to collect his thoughts while addressing a crowd. 🤭

25. Favorite Swear Word - Fuck 👍

26. Least Favorite Book - He doesn't read much. Uh... I guess that old Mhachi tome he read to summon the voidsent that killed his family? 😅🥹

27. An aspect they do not like about their partner but love them anyway for? - Sometimes Rau talks down about himself, which Wolf hates to hear since he disagrees but tries to listen anyway so he can give him some words of affirmation after. 😌

28. Favorite Jewelry - RINGS. He wears multiple on each hand. Good thing he's not a pugilist like his mom was. 🤜

29. Least Favorite Texture/Fabric - That really scratch weaved wool. Also, burlap. 😬

30. If you could describe them only using kinds of fast food what would they be? - I don't know what this means... A burger and fries? 🍔🍟

They're back in Dragonhead. Wolf passed out on a bed. Alphi leaning against the wall looking miserable. Thought - "It's all my fault…how could I have been so naïve."

Wolf wakes with a start and yells angrily - "LEAVE HIM ALONE ILBERD!" 

A) Wolf looking around B) annoyed, covers eyes with hand - "Godsdamnit". 

Alphi shocked - "... W-Welcome back. How are you feeling? You took quite a blow to the head."

Wolf confused "I did? …I remember Rau's son finding us. The rest is a blur."

Alphi looks uncomfortable - "Well you um… you refused to leave. You bade me continue on. Then you drew your weapon and started back towards Ul'dah, ranting about how you were going to start an arms collection…were you referring to weaponry?"

Wolf furrows brow - "I was likely being literal. How did I come to be here? What news of the other Scions."

Alphi looks away, turning red - "We still have no word on our friends. As for you - Flame Marshall Tarupin leapt up and knocked you out with his sword hilt then drug you into the carriage. He said to calm you down once you woke and that he would find out where General Raubahn is being held. Then we met Cid, who delivered us here."

Wolf turning red and looking away, embarrassed - "Seven hells…" Thought - 'I finally meet the lad and end up making a fool of myself. Impressive feat though.'

Alphi confused "Pardon me?!" Thought - 'He doesn't seem quite himself…'

Wolf embarrassed, holding his hand to his head - "I had just pictured meeting Pipin under different circumstances is all." Dark Thought - 'It doesn't matter what he thinks of you. You're just a friend of his father's and lower rank officer in the Flames. What matters is massacring Ilberd, the Crystal Braves, the Brass Blades, and the Monetarists. In fact - do away with all of that wretched city. I'd be happy to help. Perhaps then he'll forgive you for failing him like that? Before I take his other arm, that is!'

Wolf hangs his head and pinches the bridge of his nose, looking worried - "Alphinaud, I need a stiff drink. I've heard the Ishgardians like their brandy - would you see if Haurchefant has a bottle and bring it here?" Dark Thought - 'Aw, you've tired of me so soon?'

Alphi concerned - "Is that wise right now." Thought - 'He's only just regained consciousness after several hours.'

Wolf grins bitterly - "It matters not, we have you if 'wisdom' is required, don't we?" Dark Thought - 'How cruel! You can't wound Ilberd so you sting this poor lad with your words!'

A) Alphinaud looks shocked and wounded. B) Alphi looks away sadly - "I suppose I deserved that."

Alphi leaving room.

Wolf leans back against the headboard, looking sad. Thought - 'That was indeed unkind. I don't know what came over me.' Dark Thought - 'I do. That was typical Wolfram - you cause a big mess and want to blame everyone but yourself for it. Almost twenty years later and you haven’t changed a bit.'

Wolf stares at the ceiling looking miserable eyes tearing - "It is my fault isn't it?" Dark thought - "After all, whose advice did Raubahn ask for? Who was it that brought Ilberd back into his life?"

Wolf covering mouth, looking at wall, eyes wide, a few tears fall. Dark Thought - 'Who sensed something was off about him yet said nothing? You knew how angry he was. You brushed it off as wanting vengeance for Ala Mhigo. You squandered your empathic gift when it would have saved them. Instead of focusing on how Ilberd's emotions changed near Raubahn to determine the cause, you were panicking when you sensed how Raubahn felt about him. Letting your mind run like a jealous fool.' ' Wolf - "I did this… I did this…"

Tears fall down Wolf's face. Dark Thought - 'You had so many opportunities to stop it all. The Scions value your opinion for some reason. You could have voiced your concerns. Instead you wanted to encourage Alphinaud. Why? Because he reminds you of your poor dead brother? Pathetic.'

Wolf brings his knees up to his chest and covers his face with a hand. Dark Thought - 'You ignored the warnings. You were too slow to save the Sultana. You abandoned Raubahn to fight off Ilberd alone. You let all your friends sacrifice themselves just to get you out. What are the chances they survived? Lolorito would have taken your beloved General alive to keep the Flames in line, but clearly he wants the Scions out of the picture.'

Wolf leans forward, burying his head in his arms crossed resting on his knees. Dark Thought - 'You reunited with the love of your life, gained his friendship, then got him horribly maimed. He'll never forgive you for this. If the Scions live they'll blame you as well. If they keep you around it will be simply as their weapon. Still more than you deserve. You found a new family and got them killed just like the first one.' Wolf - "Please just stop…please…" Sobbing noises.

Wolf sobbing noises. Alphi returns with a bottle. Concerned -  "W-Wolfram? Are you alright? Does your head hurt that badly?"

Wolf looks at Alphi, tears falling down his face, smiling sadly - "Aye, the bloody thing is killing me. This should help though." Dark Thought - 'Farewell for now. I'll see you in your dreams.'

*Glug noises* Focus on Alphi, worried face - "I'm so sorry. This is all my fault. I'm terribly worried about everyone as well."

Wolf wipes his mouth while looking at Alphi apologetically - "No lad, it wasn't your fault. *hic* I shouldn't have spoken to you that way. The blame is now back where it belongs."

Alphi confused - "Well, we can discuss blame later I suppose... For now Ser Haurchefant would like a word with us. Are you feeling up to meeting with him?" Wolf grins - "Aye, my head is much better. Perhaps he'll have a lead on the location of our friends. *hic*"

After months of learning glitches as well as much trial and error I finally have a house I’m proud of! It’s not perfect, but it’s home. 😊 This is my small in Mist Ward 15 Plot 19 on Spriggan. Apologies for the wide angle shots, it’s much better in person. 

I absolutely love the concept of tiny homes and container homes. Living Big in a Tiny House is one of my favorite YouTube channels. I drew a lot of inspiration from the designs in that show. I was excited to try designing in such a narrow space. It only takes up about 1/3 of the space on the top floor. It was definitely a challenge when it came to working with the camera. A lot of removing walls and adding them back just to see what I was doing!

I got to a point where I had achieved the main layout but felt that the area above the door was too empty. So I made this lighted roof fixture using wooden beams, long windows, and oasis lanterns. Sometimes you just gotta wing it! 🤣

I knew right away that my focal point would be the kitchen. IRL I love to cook. I make most things from scratch and spend hours in there, so I wanted my love of cuisine to flow over into my virtual house as well. 

One really cool thing I’ve noticed about tiny homes is how they will have some sort of covering over the kitchen sink. This is to increase countertop room in such a small space. So I did my best to replicate that.

Tiny homes often have a lot of the storage areas built into the walls. I added the hingan desk thinking that it would be light and easy to move when the storage drawers needed to be accessed.

I couldn’t decide if I wanted an aquarium or a window here... so I decided to get weird with it and do a kind of surrealist window with fish floating around in it. 🤣

I decided to keep the sleeping loft super simple instead of some of the more extravagant ones some tiny homes have. This way it can act as a multi-purpose space. I missed not having a bathroom. If I was building in a large I could have added one behind the kitchen but the length of a small isn’t quite enough. So I totally cheated here and added a mystery door. Who’s to say there isn’t a bathroom behind it? Or a deck? Or a closet? We don’t know and we don’t need to! 😉

The best tiny homes have tons of natural light. It helps to make the small space not feel claustrophobic. Many forgo a television area as well, but I can’t survive without my shows!
