Firstly, wow the amount of messages in my notification really shocked me when I logged in! Thank you for everyone who sent me such lovely and encouraging messages. Iâm really amazed how lovely the responses Iâve been getting for such a short demo was.
Anyway, I logged in today to let you guys know that... Well, unfortunately, I have lost interest in My Hero Academia series as of now, and wonât be picking up the development for the full game.
I think everyone already got the hint given how long Iâve been MIA, but I thought Iâd close the loop by confirming the question thatâs been hanging in the air. Iâm sorry for disappointing people who have been looking forward to the full game, but I hope you understand.
Iâve learned my lesson to start small and simple for my next projects. And I do have some plans for it, though itâs still very rough and vague. It wonât be related to My Hero Academia series though.

A Major Announcement
Hey guys. This is probably going to disappoint a lot of people, especially since occasions like Christmas and New Year is coming, but here goes:
I am putting the development of the full game on hold as of today.
I might or might not come back to it; it'll depend on whether my motivation comes back for this project. I think many writers / developers / creators can relate when I say that if you have no love for your creation, most of the time it just turn out... bad. As of now, what keeps happening is that I would write the scripts, re-read them, and in the end scrap them because I'm unsatisfied with its quality. So I'm going to step away and re-evaluate if this project is worth putting my effort on, or whether I want to do something else with my time. At the point of writing this, I'm leaning heavily towards the latter.
It's been a fun journey so far, and I'm proud of what I accomplished with the demo, as short as it was. Your ten-fifteen minutes of playing the demo equated to nearly one and a half months of my free time, and while there were some typos here and there that missed my eyes, I think I'm satisfied with how it turned out and I certainly didn't regret putting my love into it.
That's all I wanted to say, really. I hope you have a good holiday and it's a little early, but Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope 2021 will be a better year than 2020. Thank you very much for all the love and support you've given this little project.

Okay, so, first thing first. The second half of September and the whole October has been a wild ride.
Apparently this game blew up on TikTok (and probably some other platform or something?), and now I could see that there are tons of you who downloaded the game. That's just... so... unreal, at least to me. I didn't think this project would get so much attention. Even now, Iâm still waiting to wake up from this dream đ

Just played through your demo. Super solid, I loved it! I just found this today, so sorry if you've said something about this before, but have you considered taking volunteers to help out if you do decide to return to working on it? I like writing and coding and would love to help if you ever did take volunteers.

Onwards to the progress update.
I had. So. Many. Things. That I actually wanted to complete.
⌠Alas, work decided to be a bitch and swamp me with things to take care of. To put it simply, there were a lot of issues that caused a lot of overtime work even on weekends, so I had to step away from coding most of the time so I wonât burn myself out.
So yeah, I didnât manage to complete a lot of features, though I did dabble on some stuff here and there. Iâm not happy with the rather small progress either. But life happens, and there are just other things that are more important sometimes. So we just have to let it go and look forward to the next month!
Iâd say that this month I was quite productive in terms of organization and planning instead of the actual coding. I have at least identified what I need to write for the âfree activityâ time of the game, which makes about 30-40% of the gameplay itself. However, actually writing the scenes and executing it is a different effort altogether, which I have only started to embark on.
Still, itâs crazy to think that the development for the full game has been actively going for around three and a half months now. Whew. Knowing that I have a tendency to hyperfocus and then get tired of something after a short time frame, Iâm going to at the very least give myself a pat on the back for still keeping this project up and running until now.
