she’s smarter than she looks.  dylan’s gone her whole life noticing one outstanding trend:  when people first meet her,  they take one look and decide who she is.  strict voice turns to condescending intonation.  of course,  she buffers with step-by-step instructions for crafting explosives,  traps,  weaponry.  she’s a master in her art,  for which you should thank her mother.  emmy grace,  the lead weaponry researcher,  has gifted dylan with her greats.   for some,  intelligence can get to their head.  but dylan wears nothing bar smile.  she carries a softness about her that might be taken advantage of,  if not for her smart experience.  favouring life behind the gates,  dylan busies herself conducting explosive workshops for the soldiers.  vincent is a frequent student,  and they’ve buried the awkward tension following their breakup last year.  still,  dylan can’t help the mind that ponders whether she did something wrong.  or rather,  what didn’t she do right?

dubbed the class clown,  devon began with a streak of optimism in his talk.  but as with every young boy and girl,  the apocalypse got to his head.  or perhaps it’s the way of teenage angst that began the cycle of cynicism.  jokes that once fixed on own self deprecation spun onto everyone else.  he quickly became the sarcastic bully,  which earned just as many laughs,  but grew him into somebody else,  naturally.  there’s still love in his heart to give concealed in layers of snark,  and vincent is always the one to receive both affection and sass from the first day of kindergarten till today---  vincent and devon’s twin sister,  darcy.  years ago,  his father was lost defending the wlf base against the fireflies.  resentment has settled in his heart,  and he responds to it with the persistent raise of his hand whenever soldiers are requested to burn those damned flies.  a move,  vincent warns,  will surely catch up with him.

many in WLF consider demir the strongest asset:  he’s as tough on the field as he is on home turf.  he’s mostly met with downcast eyes,  perhaps due to the power he has as a squad commander.  he does,  however,  have respect.  his strategic plans have never failed in his decades of service and even the seniors rarely question his ideas as though they’ve come from isaac himself.   father to two,  and loving husband to elaine,  there’s got to be heart somewhere;  but WLF (and vincent) hardly see glimpses. initially resistant to his adopted brother, the nine year old grew to love him over the years.  he doesn’t show it in affection,  though,  but in orders and commands,  efforts to keep his brother on the right track and out of trouble.
