Hello Tumblr Digimon community, I started rewatching the series lately and waited 30 episodes to catch a glimpse of this goober. He's definitely my favorite, even though he only shows up (as a main character) in, like, two episodes and then gets snapped up by Vamdemon, but it's ok, we cope by NOT watching that scene.

He has a special place in my heart because I'm pretty sure I had a crush on him as a child, and I remembered him vividly later. And I appreciate both the character from Digimon Adventure and the species in general, I love the design. It's cute and badass at the same time. I think it's super cool that his magic is literally just coding. He just manipulates code, because they are in a digital world, it's magic. And he's shy, that's why he covers his face (FlaWizarmon, apparently, is the opposite).

I love Wizardmon so much

I was TWELVE ;O;

I feel like the experience of having watched these once a week as they came out added something to it. Digimon Series 1 has 54 episodes, and the first thirty or so don't stray too far from "find the glipglops Because Prophecy, also there's a bad guy" Saturday morning Understood Risks. You watched the episode, it was cool, you ate your cereal.

And then they start turning up the heat.

At episode 37, you've spent a solid nine months invested in these characters. You have a baby's worth of investment. They really picked their time to strike. I was so genuinely shocked by it, especially when Pokemon was doubling down on safety. It always feels weird to call Digimon underrated when it did have its own mini-phenomenon, but...underrated.
