oh ooohhh it's giving me original statement fic. someone moves into an old house with a roommate they don't know particularly well, and they're more extroverted than their roommate so they're out of the house a lot more. it's an old rickety house so doors jam fairly often, some pipes need to be replaced, there's a leak that needs to be fixed, yknow, and the narrator carefully does not think anything by it when they notice that their roommate's health seems to dip every time there's a new problem and then rebounds when it's fixed. they do notice when a window breaks during a storm one night and their roommate wakes up with a black eye.
