Diana would like for her to sit with that until it gentles from having to chew herself to just the occasional urge to. It’s hard, she knows. It gets harder each time.

One of Karen’s still-friends ambles forward paw over analytical paw, its traffic light eyes and its triangle ears signalling at Diana. Her half-moon smile tickles her cheek.

He’s undeterred, moving forward and pushing her onto the ground in the alley. Once reaching her, he pauses to stand over Karen, face a blank stare. “You’ve been digging in places you shouldn’t, Miss Page. When you recover from this, you would do well to return to your puff piece.” He raises his fist as he begins to lean towards her, ready to strike.

There’s a frustration to only being one step ahead when your goal is total decimation. It’s not enough to just be able to keep himself out of Thessaly’s grasp, but Trent can’t move to take them down all by himself. It’s taken him a long time to sort out an alternative method of attack, but he finally settles on leaning into the power of the press. It takes even longer to sort out who to go to-so many reporters are champions of truth all the way up until someone offers them a big enough paycheck-but after a bit of searching he finds someone he thinks will be able to say no to the temptation: Karen Page. It helps that her name comes up in some chatter he’s caught wind of from Thessaly. There’s nothing concrete, but rumor is she’s made enough of a stink to get their attention, and that’s enough for him.

He figures on meeting her after hours, and is barely in time to see he’s not the only one with the idea. He catches her pushed off the street and bolts towards the commotion just in time to intercept her attacker, dragging them down to the ground and using the surprise to get off a few strikes before addressing her.

what would completely break your character?         »         foggy nelson. 

losing matt , specifically finding matt’s body or waking up to the news that daredevil - that matt murdock is dead. even though matt was presumed dead in the aftermath of midland circle , foggy never actually and fully accepted that as fact. there was no body ; never mind that recovering a body was next to impossible. so long as there was the slimmest possible chance that matt was still alive somewhere , foggy could make it through. does that mean he didn’t grieve at the time? that he wasn’t upset? no. things were difficult and there were days , especially as time wore on , where he would find himself unable to sleep and consumed with the thought of matt being dead.

matt turning up alive actually made those thoughts come back in droves for foggy. some people might look at it as matt being invulnerable , but foggy couldn’t see it that way. can’t see it that way. he’s the one who found matt , unresponsive , on the roof after his first run in with frank castle , after all. foggy is acutely aware of how human and vulnerable matt is ; most of his nightmares center around foggy finding matt’s battered and lifeless body somewhere because that means matt died alone. it’s one of foggy’s biggest fears.

what would completely break your character?         »         amy bendix.

with the life that she’s lived , amy’s experienced a lot of things that the average person would say is their breaking point. she’s been abandoned by people who didn’t want her ,  scrounging for food and resources to the best of her abilities from a young age. she’s seen the people she’s chosen as her family slaughtered. she’s come face to face with death ; both in nearly dying and in causing someone’s death. she’s had to face a hundred hardships and keep on trucking. and while the people she chose as her family left her in the form of dying , she’s terrified of meeting someone and picking them to be hers and then them , ultimately , deciding she’s too much or not worth it. of being vulnerable with someone because it’s the thing she’s worst at ; she’s got a dozen aliases as a means of distancing herself from people and if she left someone in? let someone see and meet amy and they used that knowledge to hurt her , to deem her not worthy and abandon her? it checks all the right ( wrong ) boxes for her.

that said , if she caused frank’s death? she’d never get over it. he’s the only thing resembling a father she’s ever had and one of the most important people to her.

what would completely break your character?         »         henry russo.

the slow dawning realization that henry cannot / has not escaped his genetics and he’s turned out exactly like his father. while henry possesses the compassion that billy distinctly lacks , he’s involvement in frank’s lifestyle also puts him into the position of walking a very , very fine line. he’s acutely aware of the notion that villains are the heroes of their own stories , of the fact that the road to hell is paved with good intentions , of the fact that he could make a choice here and a choice there and so on and so forth that results in him finding himself in billy’s shoes. he’s so vehemently against the idea of being his dad that it’s a large reason for his intense fixation /.curiosity of billy. in his head , if he can know everything about billy and understand the why and how of who he is / what he became then , maybe , he can be careful to be the complete opposite of it. he can be something good , someone better.

  they’re sitting in the back of his van — his unheated van because he hasn’t fixed that just yet — drinking lukewarm coffee out of a thermos. his fingertips are purple where they grip the metal container as he pours another cup, exhaling a puff of cold air between them as he glances at her in the red light of the backseat and nods. yeah. it is. he knows that better than anyone. ‘ it is, and i wouldn’t recommend it. it ain’t for anyone with any kinda semblance of a real life, ’  and frank’s saying that to karen, of all people, whose actual life and work overlap so much it’s a goddamn venn diagram. case and point. he withdraws a worn box of cigarettes from his pocket, the taste of stale coffee making him suddenly crave the additionally wiriness from nicotine in his system, pushing the box toward her with a butt hanging between his lips 

  ‘ you like newports? ‘cause i’m gonna light up. ’
