āĀ @witheldtruthsāĀ has crossed paths with ššššššš ā
This time of night was the quietest for a city that never slept. Snow had freshly covered the ground, not quite sullied by the snowplows pushing it into massive dirt-stained barriers along the sides of the road. He had been tending to one of his properties just a little out of the way, making sure some assets he had stored there remained untouched, undisturbed. He was a man who covered all his tracks very carefully. So when he heard the sound of shoes crunching in the fresh snow, sounding cautious as they approached, he had to get ahead of any possible threat. Turning to a fine mist, he moved along the ceiling and out of one of the higher windows above to monitor the situation before materializing not far behind the interloper.Ā āWhat are you doing here? This is private property.ā
If so, one could argue it always is there. And if argument is Karenās outlet in need, Diana wonāt make universal truths a point of one.Ā
āPain doesnāt have to measure anything otherāthan how much pain you are in.āĀ Ā
Diana would like for her to sit with that until it gentles from having to chew herself to just the occasional urge to. Itās hard, she knows. It gets harder each time.
One of Karenās still-friends ambles forward paw over analytical paw, its traffic light eyes and its triangle ears signalling at Diana. Her half-moon smile tickles her cheek.Ā Ā
āHello.ā
@witheldtruthsā *Ā from.
The Thessaly operative is waiting for Karen Page outside The Bulletin building. His orders are to leave her alive, simply ensure that her current path of research is cut short. When she exits at last, he waits until she gets quite a ways down the block before he begins to pursue; thereās no danger of her getting away, so thereās no need to rush after her. Itās when sheās passing in front of the entrance to an alleyway that he moves in close. Heās curious that she stops even before he reaches her, and she whips to confront her, defiance in her eyes as she stands her ground.
Heās undeterred, moving forward and pushing her onto the ground in the alley. Once reaching her, he pauses to stand over Karen, face a blank stare. āYouāve been digging in places you shouldnāt, Miss Page. When you recover from this, you would do well to return to your puff piece.ā He raises his fist as he begins to lean towards her, ready to strike.
--------------------------
Thereās a frustration to only being one step ahead when your goal is total decimation. Itās not enough to just be able to keep himself out of Thessalyās grasp, but Trent canāt move to take them down all by himself. Itās taken him a long time to sort out an alternative method of attack, but he finally settles on leaning into the power of the press. It takes even longer to sort out who to go to-so many reporters are champions of truth all the way up until someone offers them a big enough paycheck-but after a bit of searching he finds someone he thinks will be able to say no to the temptation: Karen Page. It helps that her name comes up in some chatter heās caught wind of from Thessaly. Thereās nothing concrete, but rumor is sheās made enough of a stink to get their attention, and thatās enough for him.
He figures on meeting her after hours, and is barely in time to see heās not the only one with the idea. He catches her pushed off the street and bolts towards the commotion just in time to intercept her attacker, dragging them down to the ground and using the surprise to get off a few strikes before addressing her.

losing matt , specifically finding mattās body or waking up to the news that daredevil - that matt murdock is dead. even though matt was presumed dead in the aftermath of midland circle , foggy never actually and fully accepted that as fact. there was no body ; never mind that recovering a body was next to impossible. so long as there was the slimmest possible chance that matt was still alive somewhere , foggy could make it through. does that mean he didnāt grieve at the time? that he wasnāt upset? no. things were difficult and there were days , especially as time wore on , where he would find himself unable to sleep and consumed with the thought of matt being dead.
matt turning up alive actually made those thoughts come back in droves for foggy. some people might look at it as matt being invulnerable , but foggy couldnāt see it that way. canāt see it that way. heās the one who found matt , unresponsive , on the roof after his first run in with frank castle , after all. foggy is acutely aware of how human and vulnerable matt is ; most of his nightmares center around foggy finding mattās battered and lifeless body somewhere because that means matt died alone. itās one of foggyās biggest fears.
what would completely break your character?     »     amy bendix.
with the life that sheās lived , amyās experienced a lot of things that the average person would say is their breaking point. sheās been abandoned by people who didnāt want her ,Ā scrounging for food and resources to the best of her abilities from a young age. sheās seen the people sheās chosen as her family slaughtered. sheās come face to face with death ; both in nearly dying and in causing someoneās death. sheās had to face a hundred hardships and keep on trucking. and while the people she chose as her family left her in the form of dying , sheās terrified of meeting someone and picking them to be hers and then them , ultimately , deciding sheās too much or not worth it. of being vulnerable with someone because itās the thing sheās worst at ; sheās got a dozen aliases as a means of distancing herself from people and if she left someone in? let someone see and meet amy and they used that knowledge to hurt her , to deem her not worthy and abandon her? it checks all the right ( wrong ) boxes for her.
that said , if she caused frankās death? sheād never get over it. heās the only thing resembling a father sheās ever had and one of the most important people to her.
what would completely break your character?     »     henry russo.
the slow dawning realization that henry cannot / has not escaped his genetics and heās turned out exactly like his father. while henry possesses the compassion that billy distinctly lacks , heās involvement in frankās lifestyle also puts him into the position of walking a very , very fine line. heās acutely aware of the notion that villains are the heroes of their own stories , of the fact that the road to hell is paved with good intentions , of the fact that he could make a choice here and a choice there and so on and so forth that results in him finding himself in billyās shoes. heās so vehemently against the idea of being his dad that itās a large reason for his intense fixation /.curiosity of billy. in his head , if he can know everything about billy and understand the why and how of who he is / what he became then , maybe , he can be careful to be the complete opposite of it. he can be something good , someone better.
what would completely break your character?     »     billy russo.
the only time we canonly saw billy break and display a large level of vulnerability was when he was confronted with the undeniable and imminent promise of his death , coupled with the fact that he was going to die alone. as a marine , billy was one of the most elite soldiers and while he was aware that death didnāt discriminateĀ Ā Ā Ā Ā he knew that if he died in the field , frank would be there. didnāt matter how , didnāt matter where ; frank castle wouldnāt let him die alone. heād make goddamn sure of it. its not the dying that scares billy so much as its the ⦠loneliness of it.Ā

Ā theyāre sitting in the back of his van ā his unheated van because he hasnāt fixed that just yet ā drinking lukewarm coffee out of a thermos. his fingertips are purple where they grip the metal container as he pours another cup, exhaling a puff of cold air between them as he glances at her in the red light of the backseat and nods. yeah. it is. he knows that better than anyone.Ā ā it is, and i wouldnāt recommend it. it aināt for anyone with any kinda semblance of a real life,Ā āĀ and frankās saying that to karen, of all people, whose actual life and work overlap so much itās a goddamn venn diagram. case and point.Ā he withdraws a worn box of cigarettes from his pocket, the taste of stale coffee making him suddenly crave the additionally wiriness from nicotine in his system, pushing the box toward her with a butt hanging between his lipsĀ
