just so we're 100% clear, if we're abandoning the I would argue tonal rule established since season 1 (and I would also argue in the source material) of being quasi-agnostic

- God is real but doesn't really care about us, we're on our own yet we can't escape? pick one. add it to the list of retcons - and fully embracing this insipid 'conclusion' they decided was the only way to end the series that a Godless, Creationist-less existence is somehow inherently better.

(we could debate for days if there being a God would really make any difference at all, it seems like in the universe we're talking about, the only people beholden to any of it were angels and demons because they just...don't know any better, and its been proven angels and demons can make the choice to make their own destiny...this is a giant fucking mess of a narrative.)

But if we're being literal and this is a Godless universe (created by God...the paradox is mind boggling) where everything starts with a big bang and ends in the heat death of the universe, there is no soul, there are no soul mates, there is no 'finding each other through time again and again,' that's woo-woo bullshit.

in a Godless universe everything is random, there is probability and odds and there is no fate, because nothing in the universe is organically predetermined, where lightening strikes, where you're born, when you die, when a star implodes and eats the planet, if a bear jumps out of the woods and eats your face, its all random.

There is no reason for anything. (Watch Signs 'Are you the kind of person that sees signs, sees miracles? Or do you believe people just get lucky?')

and if you want to get really serious about being atheist, 'love' is really just chemicals in your brain we developed evolutionarily so you bond with other humans to survive. Doesn't make love not important, but them's the breaks guys.

side note: I would go so far as to say even the most staunch atheist would argue for the continued existence of two species of people ( angels and demons ) and also ya know, an entire universe.

Can anyone explain to me how the writers aren't assuming I'm fucking stupid when they're trying to sell me that Aziraphale and Crowley needed to sacrifice themselves for a concept that falls apart literally minutes later when they just assemble the cast as humans all living in the same neighborhood somehow and the 'reincarnations' (again also antithesis to free will.) somehow are and aren't Aziraphale and Crowley? Somehow? Because they knew if they cut it at them being fucking snapped people would riot?

I'm not fucking stupid. This incoherent ham-fisted misguided ideological mish mash nonsense of a resolution they're trying to tell me was worth Aziraphale and Crowley not only dying but never existing at all is fucking insulting.

On top of not being the happy ending we were promised, its also just bad writing.
