Hipster Tipster Tuesday Fairies Fairies are mythical beings that look human in appearance. They are very small and are known for their magical powers and trickery. There are a lot of references about them throughout European culture. Some are portrayed as kind and helpful while others are evil to demonic in nature. If you have a shady part of your garden you can attract them by planting Violets, Lady’s Mantle, Ferns, Foxglove, and Bluebells. Foxglove is worn as hats and gloves by the Fairies. However, if you hear a bluebell ring it is thought you would die soon. Cowslips are loved and protected by Fairies. If food is left out overnight, it is thought as an offering to the Fairies and should not be eaten.
