war&&despair&&fire ; for how much longer would he have to walk this path ? it was absolutely necessary, non-negotiable that he continue this battle . no escape, no room for mistakes, no matter how exhausting, he must continue on . ironic, that the power he had been bestowed with had created endless possibilities, only for him to now find himself restrained by the decisions he made . but perhaps he had never been given a choice at all , perhaps his very birth had been a curse he would have to carry for the rest of his life .
his sole confidant, the only one he could ever really reveal his secrets to ; the witch that had turned his entire life around with a single touch . he had never had the choice to hide anything from her , anyways , even as she remained an utter enigma . and there she lays, leisurely reclining on his dorm room bed as usual . she had a bad habit of disappearing on him every now and then , but he could more or less expect to find her within reach most of the time .
not a single mistake .
it was tiring , really . trying to piece together strategy after scheme , trying to constantly tell the future through predicting both enemy and ally movement . yes , he had been well - versed in politics even as a child , exposed to such themes as his countless siblings all eyed his father’s throne . with slim fingers he releases the clasp on his collar, allowing him room to comfortably breathe and at least attempt to relax a bit . " i see that at least you’ve been enjoying yourself . " it was already late into the night ; he had not even had a chance to greet nunnally upon his return from the black knights meeting . it was quite strange ; he had spent the day surrounded by people , talking and directing for hours and yet , it was somewhat a relief to see the woman .
