Royal Meetings:
Human!Reader:
"I can do this... I can do this... I can do this..." you murmured under your breath over and over again as you waited for the announcement to be over. Several servants were hovering around you, fixing your hair and clothes while giving words of solemn encouragement.
The King, your father, had just died. That morning. Everything that had happened up until then was a whirlwind and you knew people were unhappy about the announcement of his heir. You had overheard one of the arguments days before in a meeting you weren't allowed to attend due to your father being there.
"They're not one of us! They're just a human the king kept as a pet! I doubt he saw them as his child!" "They know nothing of the Boiling Isles!" "They don't have magic of their own! How are they supposed to lead if they can't even do that!"
It wasn't exactly encouraging to know that the people closest to the King disapproved of you taking the throne in this situation.
The curtains before you opened in a flourish, revealing a massive crowd below the balcony with a mix of cheers and jeers. You stared out with an eye twitch.
"I can't do this..."
Regardless, you were ushered forward by the servants and the castle advisor to address the crowd. With a deep breath, you began to speak about the recent events and what that meant for the kingdom. You felt like you were floundering when a loud explosion rocked the area and you were suddenly snatched up by some guards as the crowd began to scream and scatter due to fire that was raining down upon them.
"GET YOUR MAJESTY TO SAFETY!" you heard the advisor scream before another explosion went off nearby, throwing everyone to the floor. You were conscious one moment and then out the next.
When you regained consciousness, you found a figure kneeling over you as a cold compress was being pressed against the side of your head. Seeing a mask on the figure's face startled you and when you scrambled to get away, you were stopped by the familiar voice of your advisor, reassuring you that the figure was there to help. This was "Lord Belos" and he was hunting "wild witches" as well as preaching against the use of "wild magic". Apparently, he had proven himself during the attack and shielded you from further harm after you had lost consciousness with several witnesses.
His demonstration of strong magic had convinced those who were for you being the heir that he was what you needed as an ally at your side to ward off attacks and started to submit to the idea that wild magic was bad to help encourage you to follow him as well. You, however, were a bit skeptical about the whole idea that he could speak to the Titan but kept it to yourself.

This wasn't happening. This wasn't happening.
You were distraught as you paced the throne room. A messenger had delivered the word that your parents and siblings, including the heir to the throne, had been killed in what was being called a "wild witch" attack near Bonesborough the night before. While you were trying to process the news, several important figures in the castle came to you, pressing you that you were the only living member of the royal family left and were to take the throne immediately.
You were sick to your stomach. How were you supposed to lead and keep your secret from getting out that you had no magic? It was the sole reason you were skipped over as the heir, despite being the "rightful heir" due to your birth order. If you didn't take the throne now, it would raise suspicion and one of the other kingdoms that had held a grudge against your family would try to take over. You couldn't allow that either. You knew that once you took the throne, some of your family's starch supporters would call for the ones responsible for the deaths and push for you to take aim at the kingdom they took place in.
As you were hemming and hawing over the situation with a mix of grieving and fear, a servant came to you and told you someone who had witnessed the attack on your family was there to see you, though he seemed surprised when told you existed. Now curious, you followed the servant out to a courtyard to see a tall masked figure in white and gold holding a strange-looking staff who kneeled with his head bowed upon seeing you.
"Your majesty."
You shook your head and hands frantically, not used to that behavior directed at you.
"Please, don't-!" you stuttered then cleared your throat. "Y-You don't have to-!"
"You are the next on the throne, are you not?"
You fell silent and glanced to the side before nodding. He then introduced himself as "Lord Belos" and began to apologize for the loss of your family, stating he couldn't get to them in time when the attack happened. Not only were they targeted, but half of the large city was burned to the ground with dozens of people either dead or severely injured, including several of your kingdom's own guards and the royal advisor, indicating you were in the dark about everything that was about to happen. He went on to explain why the attacks were happening and what he was trying to do to stop them. Belos expressed fear that because your family was targeted, the next attacks might end up being in the current area in order to make sure no one else can take the throne, which is why he was there. He was just grateful that an heir was secured or the kingdom itself was to fall to ruin.
The servant who brought you to him vouched for him, rolling up their sleeve and showing you a sigil with a small purple blob with eyes and nudged at the idea of making him part of your kingdom since he was supposedly "chosen" by the Titan himself to help the Isles. Seeing as you didn't have a choice in the matter, you invited Lord Belos to stay as long as he could.

One minute, your carriage was flying home, overlooking the landscape with the Titan's skull as a centerpiece, the next, all hell broke loose. The only thing you could remember was the carriage that carried you and your family being hit by something below and it plummeting out of the sky into the woods while your father cast spell after spell to try to save all of you and then... nothing.
When you came to, you found yourself laying under the wreck, battered and bruised but ultimately unharmed. You shakenly crawled out and stumbled to your feet, catching yourself on a tree. Glancing back, your eyes widened at the carnage that you managed to escape. Blood stained the area as the fire spread among the trees and brush. Your family, the driver, and several guards were dead, some too mangled to be identified. The spells your father had cast seemed to have been targeting you.
As tears began to streak your face, a twig snapping made you look up to see a tall masked figure in white appearing from the brush. A wave of a strange staff he carried caused the fire to stop spreading. His eyes were on the crash and he let out a heavy sigh.
"Damn... we're too late..."
The man moved closer to it before turning his attention to you and his head perked up.
"Oh! Someone did survive!"
He approached you carefully, asking you questions as another figure appeared in white and gold behind him, only shorter. The man introduced himself as "Lord Belos" and gave you the rundown on what was happening, who caused the crash, etc., etc., before offering to take you back to your kingdom to relay the news. He gave you his condolences once you agreed. What choice did you have?
From then on, you made sure Belos was treated well in your court once you took the throne. He was offered the position of "advisor" which he tried to dance around for a short time before finally accepting and started to give you ideas on what your first decrees should have been.
