"What's wrong little Starboy? Did you finally learn to fear the power of a-HRK!" Magnifico's taunting was cut short.
Star had grabbed the king's neck, catching him by surprise. The star didn't normally attack unless provoked. But if he took account of the painful encounter he had when they first met, it was only a small taste of his true power.
Cosmic!Star said nothing, for his usual grin, and quite literally his entire mouth had vanished. However, he could still hear the sound of wolves howling emitting from him. Star wasn't afraid, he was furious.
Magnifico got over the shock rather quickly. "That's a cute threat, but we both know you don't have the guts-"
Cosmic!Star swiftly threw giant across the other side of the wish chamber room, cracking the walls within. The force was so strong that it shook the very tower itself.
Magnifico had to shake the daze off. Perhaps he did underestimate the young star a little bit, but he won't make the same mistake twice. He would have to act quick, the star was coming for him once again.
Cosmic!Star only stopped when a blast of green magic hit his back. It was small, but he still felt it. The being turned his head and saw Amaya, her hands glowing green and ready to strike again if necessary.
"Manfred!" Amaya shouted. Despite the state he was in, she was still concerned for him. Even she couldn't predict that consuming so much magic would transform him into....that. Once they defeated that meddlesome duo, she would find a way to return him to his normal self (well, semi normal. He's still crazy).
Cosmic!Star growled and stomped over to the woman. Amaya raised up a dome like shield to block him, but the star easily broke it as he slammed his fist against her, sending the queen straight into the wall. She slumped to the ground as she lost her strength.
Magnifico saw this and was boiling with anger. "HOW DARE YOU HURT MY QUEEN! YOU'LL PAY WITH YOUR LIFE!" His voice was like thunder as he punched Cosmic!Star between the eyes. It was a rather barbaric approach he wouldn't normally make, but all bets were off when Amaya was in danger.
The two monstrous magic beings began delivering blows one after the other, shaking the tower itself with all their force. The rest of the trapped wishes were still spinning within the sphere, but without Star there to guide them back to their owners. Not only that, the once positive feeling he added to the wishes was beginning to change into a sickly green color similar to Magnifico's.
Outside just below where the broken window was, Asha, Flazino, Dahlia and Gabo had been saved by a most unusual object: A flying carpet! It had broken free from its glass and swooped down to save the teens in the nick of time.
(Yes, THAT flying carpet)
Asha really shouldn't be surprised at this point, but she was relived that they were all saved. She was sure they'd met their end. "Where did you find this?" She asked Flazino as she looked down and noticed just how far up they were. The rest of the crowd looked like mere ants.
"I got my hands on one of their artifacts while I was forced to clean that whole room. This one got attached to me, but I'm certainly not unhappy about it now." He explained as he patted one of the corner tassels.
Their moment of relief was cut short when the tower began to shake.
"What's going on in there? I'm not taking one step off this carpet to find out!" Gabo shouted, trying to think of something else other than how far up they were.
"Whatever it is, Star is still up there with Magnifico. What if he unleashed something else on him?" Dahlia added as she held onto Flazino's arm.
"You mean turning into a giant magic monster wasn't enough for him?!" Gabo exclaimed as he squeezed his eyes shut and gripped the carpet.
Asha knew she should get back to the people, but she couldn't help but feel that something else was wrong. "Flazi, can you get us back up there?"
"You're asking a lot of me right now considering we've nearly died twice." Flazino grumbled as he used what little magic he had left to lift the carpet.
As the carpet rose up, Asha was able to see Monster! Magnifico fighting a huge black creature. She was wondering what happened to Star, but then she realized that the huge black creature was Star.
They were hitting each other with such force that each blow made a near deafening noise. Star in particular had hit the king so hard he crashed into the wall, breaking some of it into pieces.
She told Flazino to get Dahlia and Gabo back to the ground, Star needed her now more than ever. The others didn't quite understand what was happening, but didn't argue. As soon as Asha was safely on the floor, the remaining trio flew back down to safety.
Asha saw Star was about to deliver a final blow to Magnifico, and she had to stop him from making a grave mistake. She shouted his name in desperation. "STAR, STOP!"
The Star's fist stopped just before meeting the king's face. His bright eyes widened at the sound of her voice. He didn't think he was ever going to hear that voice again. Star looked behind him and saw Asha standing there, alive and well.
Cosmic!Star whimpered, seeing Asha return had subsided his anger. It was like Magnifico wasn't even there anymore, his full attention on Asha, as he rose up and slowly made his way towards her.
Magnifico felt like he could breathe again after Star left. He hadn't felt that close to death since he summoned that one eyed triangle being by accident. Best not to move much at the moment.
Asha hadn't seen this form of Star's before, as she was nearly unconscious during his first battle with Magnifico. Out of all the forms he had taken, from human to animal and even the small plushie form, they all still felt like the same Star. But this one, felt like something else entirely.
(The scene is a direct shout out to that Moana moment, so here's a bit of music to accompany it)
Cosmic!Star carefully reached out a clawed hand on the ground, letting Asha step onto it. She felt real to him. Star was just hoping this wasn't an illusion by either royal to distract him.
As Asha was being lifted up, she could feel Star's presence was a mix of fear, anger and sadness. His large glowing glowing eyes met her own, as she stepped closer to him, with no fear in her heart.
She closed her eyes and put her forehead gently against his.
In return, he closed his own eyes in comfort, just feeling her touch.
Asha whispered only one thing: "You're still my star."
The rumbling inside Star ceased. When Asha opened her eyes, she saw bright yellow streaks coming from his eyes, acting as tears in this cosmic form. Even in this giant form, her beloved Star still had the same heart.
(Credit to @tumblingdownthefoxden for this amazing piece, she totally read my mind for illustrating this scene!)
"Asha.....I'm sorry." For the first time Star could actually speak in this form. Perhaps his rage subsided enough for him to communicate. His voice still sounded rather warped, but she could still understand him.
The girl could feel his pain, as if they had always been connected. She wanted to help take that horrible feeling away from as much she could.
"Its okay. You don't have to be angry anymore. You're stronger than anything he has." She whispered to him. Asha had that same anger in her heart since that day her family fled. Star helped her conquer her hate, now she wanted to repay him.
"We can beat him together, just be yourself when you take him on, that's the best part about you." Asha softly touched his face, as it radiated with warm magic.
Asha saw Star's giant ears wiggle. A good sign he was returning to his lovable self.
"Oh, how touching. The power of true love and blah blah blah." The king mocked as he slowly rose up. "Your so called 'love' can't save you. And it won't bring those wishes back. This kingdom, this world, is OURS!" His entire demeanor was different than before. The composed facade he had for years had been stripped away once he got a hold of all this magic. Magnifico was quite nearly mad with power.
Cosmic!Star slightly covered Asha with his other clawed hand to protect her. He wasn't going to lose her again.
"Why don't we make a small deal? Let my dear Amaya take Asha away to safety, and I promise not to hurt her." He offered as he eyed the other wishes behind Star. The king still intended on getting both Star and the wishes, he just had to wait for the right moment for his final strike and claim his prize.
Amaya slowly got up in a slight daze. Now she understood how her husband's first fight with Star felt. She had enough strength at the moment to cast her spell and send both she and Asha back down to the crowd.
Cosmic!Star wasn't sure, but Asha gave him a nod. It wasn't worth the risk to fight while she was there. She really needed to return to her family and help the rest of the citizens. Star reluctantly placed his hands down on the ground and let Asha go.
Magnifico chuckled. He promised that he wouldn't hurt her, but he couldn't say the same about Amaya. He was convinced he had the upper hand here.
Amaya took Asha's arm. She didn't chance making a wrong move, it could be the end of her right then and there. She just had to trust Star to do his part. Asha would figure out a way to handle Amaya, even without magic of her own. Just as long as her family wasn't taken again.
As the two vanished in a green mist, Amaya's voice echoed; "Don't fail this time."
The king considered it to be a bit condensing for a moment, but he had more important things to worry about. Such as killing Star and getting his power.
The star looked at the sphere of wishes behind him. He almost lost sight of what he was meant to do. He and Asha took this journey to help save others, it was time to have her wish granted.
(Roll Credits! 😂)
Cosmic!Star disappeared in a misty gold cloud, and reemerged in his normal human like form, though now he looked much more confident.
Monster!Magnifico took a few heavy steps forward and grinned. "Choosing that human costume for yourself again, eh? Your making this quite easy now." The king towered over the star, making him look like a small animal that's been cornered by a predator.
Star laughed at his remark. "Easy? Who said this was going to be easy? 🎶You're gonna have to catch me first!"🎶
He then transformed into a parrot just before Magnifico could get a hold of him.
"Ya missed me, big dummy!" Star squawked as he pecked the side of Magnifico's head. The giant man ended up hitting himself and missing the annoying star entirely.
The king growled like an angry lion. "Hold still, you magical nuisance I won't be denied my power any longer!" He lunged at the flying star, but kept missing him by an inch.
Amaya soon teleported back down to the arena with Asha in tow. She pushed her forcibly into the arms of her family.
"I've had quite enough you peasants getting in our way. All this foolishness ends tonight." She eyed the crowd as her eyes flashed green in anger.
While Sabor was uneasy about his master using dark magic, he was still loyal to her as he sharpened his claws, ready to attack anyone when given the command.
Asha could feel her grandfather shaking, despite his steel like demeanor. Her mother on the other hand was more visibly worried. After everything that's happened in the past three days, she had enough of running and hiding from these maniacs. She got up and looked to the crowd.
"This is your time to fight back. You've been following everything they say, don't you want to choose something for yourselves for once?" Asha called to both groups of people.
Amaya shook her head. Even now she was trying to help these poor unfortunate souls. Was she just not getting it? "If you know what's good for you, you'll keep your mouth shut." The queen warned.
At first the crowd was unsure, but considering that they outnumbered Amaya by quite a lot, they had a chance to free themselves.
"Yeah, its not like she can take us all on and chain us down!" Dario pointed out.
The Rosas crowd agreed, but the Hamlet residents were hesitant. They had seen the power that Magnifico had, and his wife was just as powerful. The former started charging towards her while the latter ran away from the fight.
"Wait, guys, you need to stop!" Asha warned them and pulled at least Hal and Simon back, which made the others stop in confusion.
Amaya unleashed a blast of green magic that stopped the citizens in their tracks. A green almost vine like trail covered the ground and soon attached themselves to the wrists of a majority of the Rosas citizens, becoming chains that held them down.
If Asha hadn't stopped the teens, they would've been trapped as well. They had stayed behind the statues of the royals, which provided to be a good blind spot.
The queen chuckled. "You're all really are fools. We're the most powerful sorcerers in this land. Did you really think a team of powerless peasants could stop me?" It felt pretty good to finally reveal her true feelings rather than having to pretend to care about these people for once. Amaya did understand her husband's relief on that restraint as the dark magic course strongly through her body.
Dario blinked. "Oooooh. That's right. Dark magic." He genuinely forgot about that.
Gabo knew it would be an inappropriate time to hit the dopey teen and decided to wait until later.
Little Valentino looked up at his friend, his hooves shaking. "What are we gonna do now, Asha?" He whimpered.
Asha saw the scene before her and first thought it was too late to help them. But then she realized that just as she couldn't save Rosas on her own, Rosas couldn't save itself either. It was going to take the work of both Roads and the Hamlet to put an end to this.
"We fight back." Asha replied, with not a trace of doubt in her mind.
This would lead into one of our last song numbers. Not just a call to to unite, but to take back Rosas once and for all.
This Wish (Reprise) 🌟

Lines in Green - Simon
Lines in Bold- Everyone
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
So I look out at the stars just like me
And I'm asking you to see this as a sign
'Cause I know that if you choose to stand beside me
(Amaya shoots a blast of magic with her free hand, aiming straight for Asha. Before it hits her, Flazino raises a magic shield of his own, blocking the blast before it hurts her.)
We can be greater than all their magic combined
(Dahlia joins in the song as she stands by her side and smiles. Anaya looked surprised, confused on how her magic missed them. The other teens, Sakina, Saving and the Rosas citizens begin to join in one by one)
So I make this wish
So I make this wish
So I make this wish (so we make this wish)
To have something more for us and end, this!
(We cut to Star fighting Magnifico, darting in every direction to avoid Magnifico's grasp. As the king gets angrier, he starts to lose his focus and accidentally slams into a wall. Star then takes advantage of the distraction and re-enters the sphere, turning the color of the wishes from green to yellow.)
'Cause we've been here generations and generations,
Oh, where could we even begin?
We're done keeping our dreams in
No, we won't stop, no, we already rushing in!
(Cutting back to the crowd, the color of the chains are slowly beginning to change, from a lime green to a yellow/green mix as they continue to sing and distract Amaya)
(The teens each grab a pick axe and start chipping away at the hands and feet of the statues, freeing the mirror in place bit by bit. The teens are struggling to keep the mirror up on their own as Amaya blasts more magic at them.)
We were all confusing your promises for protection
But we know what we've gotta do
Love manifesting with our wishes held high
The way we've always were meant to do
(We cut back Magnifico, who tries to grab Star within the sphere, but his magic proves to be stronger than ever before, as Star blasts a powerful yellow beam. Magnifico looks in terror as he begins to shrink with each wish leaving his body. He attempts to grab them again, but they fly far away from him as the star's power becomes too much for him to handle.)
So we look up at the stars just like us
And we're throwing all caution to the side
What we do in this moment is defining
And we can take it on if we unite!
(The citizens continue singing as they gradually get louder as some of the soldiers rush to help them carry the mirror towards Amaya. The queen orders Sabor to attack, but as he leaps towards them, Valentino head butts the lynx and knocks him out of the way, proud that he's no longer afraid of him.)
So, oh, we make this wish
To have something more for us and end this!
(A pair of yellow hands emerge from the once green chains and grab onto Amaya. She yells for the magic to stop, but its no longer responding to her)
So we make this wish,
TO HAVE SOMETHING MORE FOR US, AND END THIS!!!
(With one more magic blast, Star uses his the last of his strength to push Magnifico over the edge, literally. As he falls from the tower, Amaya is being sucked into the mirror by the yellow hands. The two of them collide into the mirror simultaneously)
A bright white flash of white encased half the kingdom, so bright that the next kingdom over could've seen it. When the light finally subsided, Hal was the first to open her eyes.
The storm had passed and the night sky seemed to be calm once again as the stars were glimmering more than usual. Hal could see the rest of the citizens beginning to look around as well, still holding onto the mirror.
Everyone was silent as they looked around for any more danger. Was it over? Did they win?
"WHAT HAVE YOU FOOLS DONE?!" A voice bellowed seemingly from nowhere.
Dario decided to walk over and looked at the front of the mirror. "Woah! It worked!"
The people holding the mirror gently put it down on the ground, looking for themselves. Magnifico and Amaya had been sealed within the plaza's mirror. The man looked more or less back to normal now that he no longer had the people's magic, but his body still radiated with the star's magic leftover magic. Amaya looked like she had just come back from a war, but was other wise fine. Both of them looked their citizens in disdain.
"I don't believe this. Defeated by a mere peasant girl and a silly song...." Amaya snarled.
Magnifico scoffed. "Do you think I had it easy? I was duped by a ball of light. I'll never live this down!" His anger then turned to the citizens.
Asha herself couldn't believe her eyes either. It was finally over, both of them were sealed away where they couldn't harm anyone else ever again.
"After all we've done for you?! Giving you a home and taking all your troubles away, and THIS IS THE THANKS WE GET?!" Magnifico shouted. He tried blasting the glass with magic, but it was no use, it wouldn't budge.
"Oh dear, here he goes again." Amaya grumbled. "Going on one of his rants. You think I like this situation anymore than you do? You're the one who wanted to use dark magic!"
Magnifico swiftly turned to his wife in shock. "YOU JOINED ME, DIDN'T YOU, DARLING?!" snapped.
Their voices sounded like they were in a cave, echoing through the mirror as they argued. In fact, they had never even heard these two argue before. Surely it had to happen, but it was both strange, yet somewhat funny seeing these two act like....well, an old married couple.
Gabo teased them by knocking on the mirror. "Not so tough now are you? All that infinite cosmic power, now in an itty bitty living space!"
"Stop that, you brat! You'll break the glass and kill us both!" Magnifico warned Gabo, with a very slight look of genuine fear in his eyes.
"Ooo, I like that idea!" Gabo smiled deviously. He's been waiting for a chance like this for years.
Sabino grabbed his mandolin and carried it like a bat. "A grand idea indeed!" Asha and Sakina had to hold the old man back. Yeah, he was feeling better already.
Hal looked at the mirror and noticed how "in the way" it was. "So, what do we do with them now? Can't exactly leave them here."
Safi sneezed. "We could put a sheet over them and pretend they're not there." he suggested.
Simon grabbed one of the left over pic axes. "I kind of like Gabo's idea right now. After all they put us through."
The former king and queen looked at each other nervously.
Asha stepped in before these people committed murder in a Disney story. "Actually we could put them where they wanted us: The dungeon."
Some of the people still liked the first idea, but gave in to Asha's. They didn't want to become bad as them.
Asha gave the royals a hard look. "You'll never hurt my family or anyone else ever again." It wasn't enough of a punishment to her, but it was the merciful thing to do.
"What?! How dare you!" Magnifico shouted, banging on the glass. "None of you deserve your wishes. You all couldn't survive without us!"
Flazino rolled his eyes. "Barely survived with you."
A few of the soldiers took charge of the situation and carefully picked up the mirror. They had to be careful not to break it by accident. Or on purpose.
Sabor had slithered his way through the crowd and saw his beloved masters trapped. He jumped on the glass and desperately tried to claw his way through, to no avail.
"Don't worry, sweetie. Mama's okay. Just come visit us from time to time, okay?" She did her best to comfort her beloved lynx, but he was a feline after her own heart. He was going to worry and then he was going to plan his vengeance against those who opposed him.
Sabor watched them be carried away, powerless to do anything at the moment. He went from a royal beast to a common housecat in only a few hours. And Bazeema petting him in comfort didn't help.
Well, maybe a little bit.
Magnfico continued rambling and threatening everyone as he blasted the glass with magic. Old guy was probably going to pull something doing that, so Amaya had to stop him.
"Let it go, Mi rey. Its a lost cause." Amaya sighed. "At the very least we'll have more than enough time to plan how to get out. And I've been meaning to talk to you about your temper."
"You hear that, peasants? When we get out of here, you're all going to PAY!" The former king continued rambling on, but his voice faded as the mirror was being carried off into the distance. At the very least, they'd have each other for a LONG time.
The rest of the kingdom had finally been released from their shackles, no longer under the watchful eyes of tyrants. For the first time, they were truly free. Many of them thanked Asha endlessly. Some featuring hugs, kisses on the cheek or strong gripped handshakes. Others asked in earnest how she pulled it off.
As for Sabor's reaction, he was now surrounded by idiots in his eyes. The lynx was still too weak to attack anyone or fight back, so he was the complete mercy of Bazeema giving him a hug. He growled in disdain.
While the people celebrated, Valentino looked up and exclaimed, "Look another light show!"
Asha and the others looked up towards the top of the tower and saw hundreds of blue orbs floating out of the top of the tower. Now that the royals had been sealed away, their dark magic no longer controlled the people's wishes.
Against all odds, Asha and Star had saved Rosas,. In the end, she couldn't do it all alone, and neither could Star. She even ended up making friends with people she never imagined would be there for her.
As the wishes scattered down and across Rosas, all of the citizens who had given up their wishes were being given another chance to make them come true, without someone dictating if it was worth it.
Each orb found their owner, many of them looking weak or tired from the side effect losing a part of themselves. Simon was one of them. On his 18tu birthday, he gave his wish to the royals: To become a loyal knight that protected his kingdom just like his father.
But he had become so apathetic that he had no desire to continue striving for it. That is until Asha arrived.
Now he held the wish in his hands, seeing himself bravely defending the people in a knight's armor. Simon gently absorbed the wish and could immediately feel his spirit change. The teen felt like he had just awakened from a long sleep, and felt ready to take on anything.
Gabo especially noticed the change. "Wow, look who's bright eyed and busy tailed! Never thought I'd see you like this, Sleepy." He teased.
Simon nodded. "Yeah, it actually feels good to not feel tired all the time." He gave Gabo a mischievous look. "Which means the next time you act up, I'll catch you."
Gabo gulped. He hadn't thought of that....
Even the Hamlet residents were able to get their wishes back, and in turn were able to reunite with friends and neighbors they hadn't seen in years in Rosas. Without the royals constantly telling them the others were traitors or conspirators, they were free to talk to each other, sorting out all the misunderstandings. It would take a bit of time to fully reconnect, but it was a start.
As Asha was hugging her family, Sakina opened her eyes and noticed two familiar orbs floating towards them.
Sakina's wish, which was to become the best seamstress in Rosas was returned to her, and Asha could see her mother's face light up as he regained her dream.
"I thought I would never feel like this again." Sakina's voice was almost a whisper. "Thank you, dear."
Asha nodded and carefully took the other wish in her hands, walking over to her grandfather. "Saba, I believe this one belongs to you." She was more than happy to finally help him achieve his boyhood dream.
Sabino's eyes widened as he took the wish in his hands and looked at the wish tenderly. He could see himself playing his mandolin and playing music to the people of Rosas and the Hamlet. The old man had to fight back tears and keep the little strength he had left.
Sabino felt the wish enter his very soul, and could feel his ailments vanishing, a wide grin spreading on his face. Not only did he have more inspiration to create music, he could be even more of a troublemaker for Sakina!
"Thank you, Asha. I knew you could do it. I feel 30 years younger!" He said with a laugh. Valentino happily licked the old man's face. "Good to have you back, saba!"
After all that he had seen lately, a talking goat was the least strange. 😂
Asha then realized Star hadn't come down to join the others yet. Usually he would want to fly around to meet all these new people now that he didn't have to have hide anymore. Something felt off. She hated to miss out on this, but the least she could do was have her family meet Star and keep her promise to give him a home with them.
Asha excused herself and swiftly ran towards the tower. She wasn't looking forward to all those steps...😅
As more citizens were receiving wishes, a few of them were going beyond the plaza and into the further parts of the city. The few residents who became ill were met with their wishes. Even though they were asleep, they could feel a sudden warmth envelope them as their lost wishes entered their bodies.
Flazino's own wish had slowly repaired itself and became whole again. It floated down to his hands as he looked into it. He saw himself creating wonders and helping people in need. With tired eyes, he looked deeply into its image.
He had been in the nightmare of being a minimum waged apprentice for so long that he had almost forgotten why he wanted to learn magic in the first place. Now he had the power to do it.
Flazino let the wish enter his body, and instantly felt a change in himself. Much like Simon, he was overworked so much that the stress of that combined with losing his wish put him at death's door. He began to lose his desire to use magic.
Dahlia carefully approached him from behind. "How do you feel, Flazi?"
When he turned to face her, the dark circles under his eyes vanished and color returned to his face. He even had a wide grin that he just couldn't get rid of. Which was seriously unusual for him.
"I....feel amazing! I haven't felt this alive in years!" Flazino was so overcome with energy that he was able to pick the young baker up in his arms and dance with her. "No more endless work! No more hiding! No more having to hold back my feelings for you!" He laughed as he twirled her around.
Dahlia couldn't tell him that he already confessed back when he was delirious, she didn't want to ruin it for him. Plus she could experience him confessing for a second time as a bonus.
"I have to thank Asha. We couldn't have done any of this without her!" he noted after he finally calmed down for a moment.
Dahlia looked around the large crowd and saw the faces of now happy people, but didn't see her friend. "Where is Asha?"
Actually, we should check on her....
Asha could hear the cheers of the citizens begin to fade as she raced up the stairs. (Surprising amount of stamina considering that huge battle. 😅)
Once she entered the wish chamber room the first thing she saw was the humongous hole in the wall, the exact spot where Magnifico finally fell from grace. The second thing was the wishes floating far away and finding their respective owners.
The third and most important thing was Star. Only instead of seeing him flying around in joy and joining the rest of the teens, he was lying on the floor, unmoving.
The happiness she had felt just moments ago was replaced with fear. She immediately ran to his side.
"Star! Star, wake up! Please!" she begged as she shook his shoulders. The girl could feel herself panicking, but she couldn't let herself feel like this again. Not after all this fighting for their happily ever after.
Star weakly opened his eyes, and saw Asha over him, scared of what was becoming of him. He didn't mean to make her worry, but he couldn't help it.
"Hey, Asha. We won, right?" Star replied, attempting to ignore her worried expression.
"Yes, but what's happening to you? Did Magnifico put a spell or curse on you before he fell?" Asha asked as she noticed his body was glowing unusually. Not in the way when he was embarrassed, but as if a light was slowly burning out.
Star looked at his own hand and noticed he could see through it. The outcome he was fearing was coming true. With a heavy (metaphorical) heart, he said "My magic's all gone, Asha. Time for me to–"
Asha didn't want to hear that. It seemed childish at the time, but it was the least of her problems. "You can't! I haven't made your wish come true yet! After everything you've done for me, I can't just let you-"
She was choking up before she could even finish. Asha had hoped that there was a chance Star could stay and remain by her side as they started a new life together. So that he wouldn't be alone anymore.
"Its alright. I guess I just didn't get that happily ever after..." He hated to admit Magnifico was right. There wasn't a chance he could have a new life here. Let alone a new adventure with Asha. He was still a star.
But if a human could wish for something more, couldn't a star?
The sound of tiny hooves clopped up the stairs, soon revealing the tiny but trusted Valentino. He went to find Asha as soon as the royals were defeated. He smiled once he saw the two of them in the wish chamber room.
"Asha! Star!" He exclaimed in his still magically enhanced voice. He trotted over to them and happily licked Asha's face. Though his excitement faded once he tried to give the same affection to Star, and saw the glowing teen was disappearing.
"What's wrong with Star?" He asked his friend, now extremely worried. The poor thing was just as scared as Asha and even more confused.
"His magic's gone Val, and I don't know how to bring it back." She told her furry friend. "Star's leaving..." She could barely finish the sentence.
"Please don't go, you're my friend! Who am I going to play- Maaaah?"
The goat suddenly realized his speech changed back to normal. Which meant Star's magic was fading faster. At that moment, he would've given anything for him to stay, to not lose his friend.
Valentino's eyes welled up with tears as he kept trying to speak in human, only to end up whimpering.
"Sorry, buddy." Star whispered as he gently patted Valentino in comfort. "Just take care of Asha for me."
The little goat nodded and sat beside by the star for comfort, for as long as he could. Star's glowing body was still warm, but even Valentino could tell it was slowly fading.
"No, no, no. There's got to be a way to fix this." Asha looked around desperately for something of use. "Maybe Flazino can use one of Amaya's spells to-" She stopped once she spotted Amaya's potion tables. Smashed to pieces from the battle.
The various potions, ingredients and tools used to create nearly everything had been destroyed as well. Leaving nothing but colored spills and shattered glass across the floor Even if Flazino did make it up in time, there wasn't anything left that he could use to help Star.
"I'll be fine, Asha.....I think." Star weakly said. "You've...done enough for me. This is the best adventure I've ever had." He gently grabbed Asha's hand, despite it becoming more transparent, he could still feel the warmth of her hands.
Neither Asha nor Star knew what would become of Star without his magic. Either he would return to the sky.....or cease to exist. Neither option sounded fun to the star, but it was worth it to save Asha and fulfill her wish.
Asha squeezed his hand, but even that was beginning to fade. A part of her knew there was a slight chance that Star would have to leave, but she never imagined that he could disappear before her eyes.
"I got to know the girl who saved my life." He said in a low, tired tone. "I saw Earth...I finally made friends.... and I got to fall in love. I....felt human."
Star was becoming more and more transparent as he spoke, and he could feel his magic leaving him. Even in his last moments, he was still making Asha smile. He could feel her teardrops falling on his face. It was something he never felt before, but he was always learning something new with her.
The girl couldn't help but chuckle. This star had been a weird guy the whole time she'd known him. Despite his many flaws, Star had become the love of her life.
And now that love was leaving her.
"Sorry I couldn't stay like I promised....at least I granted your wish...." His voice was getting slower, and his eyelids heavier.
"You granted my wish.....please let me grant yours." Her voice cracked as she held part of his face. That kind and sweet smile of his was beginning to fade as well, but his eyes somehow were still shining.
She believed that after they saved Rosas she would help him find a spell that could make him human. Sure, it seemed like a far stretch for it to become true, but being with Star made her believe in the impossible.
Acting on impulse and the uncertainty what would become of Star, she gently leaned down and kissed him.
The star barely had the strength to hold her, but he could feel his heart transforming, in way. It was most he felt human while on Earth. Star had fallen in love with the most wonderful girl he'd ever known and he was being pulled away from her.
With a weak smile, Star said only one more word in a whisper.
"Byeeee....."
The light grew brighter as Star lost his solid form, his golden stardust began to float slowly towards the sky, almost blending in with the rising sun.
Asha looked up, and unbeknownst to her, so did the rest of Rosas. They saw the magical trail as another sign of the wishes being returned as its real, pure magic was replacing the former royals corrupted version. But only Asha knew the truth.
She couldn't bare to look back down to her arms, for they only had a pair of red pajamas that were no longer magical. Valentino carefully sniffed them, checking for Star's magic, but there was nothing left. Instead he nuzzled the sleeve.
Asha had finally worked up the strength to whisper as she looked towards the sky as the sun rose.
"Goodbye, Star...."

FINAL THOUGHTS
Okay....so, before you all send angry messages...
It was really hard to choose the route to go, but it probably hurt the most writing it. Poor guy used up all his magic to save his new friends that he'll possibly never see again, which is meant to reference Bing Bong fading away in Inside Out. I don't normally write a lot of sad things in my stories, but this time it felt more appropriate.
We finally got that Disney kaiju battle, one of the last songs, and the defeat of the royals! There was so much I wanted to include since I planned a lot from the beginning, I just wanted to make sure I felt like I delivered everything I promised hinted at throughout the story. Now there's just one thing left....
Star made Asha's wish come true, but at the cost of his own power, so I wanted to show how that had an effect on him. I think the last few paragraphs might be the most angst thing I've written. 😭 If Star was gone, I wanted it to at least be impactful, cause both he and Asha have impacted the whole kingdom, even if Rosas didn't know until the end. Asha couldn't ask for a better star.
But I do want to take a quote from Lilo & Stitch 2: Love is more powerful than death. Keep that in mind for later on, because these two have built up a strong bond throughout the story. And it's pretty powerful itself. And yes, this was partially inspired by @annymation for her Kingdom of Wishes fic!
I won't spoil anything, but I will say stay tuned, because the final chapter will finally include Sabino's song, "A Wish Worth Making"! And believe me when I say its going to worth the wait!
