"Winter, with its atmosphere and rituals, used to represent a joy we never imagined would become a nightmare. 😭 It's harsh on every tent or house threatened with collapse."

In Gaza, for the third time winter means families are scrambling to keep warm. This is no different for Farah's family. Since last winter, they have only received one blanket from the UNRWA for an entire family of eight, which just isn't enough.

"Farah doesn't know that the reason for her shivering is the rain and the cold. She stops crying for a moment, then bursts into tears again."

Farah has both a mental and physical disability, which makes bearing the cold a challenge for her. Bad weather conditions are especially unpleasant for her, her mother Wesal (@shahdgazza) tells me.

"A healthy person cannot tolerate cold conditions; how can I make a child with a mental disability endure them? My heart and body are trembling, but I'm covering myself with a thin summer blanket to try and keep my children warm. It's very dangerous. ‼️‼️‼️"

Blankets cost $50-$60 dollars in Gaza now, Wesal tells me, and she currently cannot afford that. With what I've sent her of your generous donations, she has bought medication for Farah, food, and warm winter clothes for her children. But with no other income currently, blankets are beyond their means. In the meantime, the rain keeps coming down, undeterred.

"We take shelter under the rubble of homes that have been completely or partially destroyed. The situation is catastrophic. We hope to find someone to help us... 🙏🏻🌸"

Please help this innocent, sweet girl stay warm. A few days ago, Wesal told me that Farah almost froze to death, but thankfully one of her younger brothers who was also trying to sleep noticed and alerted his parents. This is the terrifying reality for the children of Gaza.

König's parents are super straightforward, so Austrian.

The two of you had been in a relationship for some time now and so you decided, it was finally time for you to meet the parents.

You're on a short sabbatical, staying over at their place in the summer time and you must say it is lovely. Austria is so scenic, the food is good, the weather delightful, all in all you thought this was going to be a lovely trip.

It was your third day there when you came down for breakfast, his mother looking up from her paper.

"So, you are trying for a baby?"

You eyes widen as you stutter out a response.

"W-what, no... umm, nein, sorry?"

"Ah, I only ask because you have ze sex many times during the days, the evenings... the mornings."

You bring your hands to your face, feeling it burning up.

As if just on time, König walks in, he looks at you, "hm?" he practically grunts as he towels off his hair.

You can't bring yourself to say words, only a squeak, you want to curl up in a hole and die.

König's father looks totally unbothered, sipping his coffee, leaning on the breakfast bar, typically a man of few words himself.

"You know, we thought he was a homosexual ever since ze incident..." You tune out the words as König's father adds his own two cents.

after having a lot of fun with the summertime bingo i decided to prepare another one for the winter months (shoutout to the folks in the southern hemisphere, i hope it's just as fun to participate during your summer!). some of the tasks are polish art-related, others roughly winter holidays-related, and some of them i just thought would be a nice enrichment.

i wanted to give us all a similarly long time for the challenge to the summertime bingo, so we are starting now (november 15th) and the bingo will last four months - until march 15th. in this time, feel free to write to me about your progress or tag me in your posts with bingo updates and i will reblog them :)
