Adaptable
The young woman standing third from right is my niece, Anna. The white thing protruding from her coat is the swaddled head of baby Bernie - 3 months old, or so.
He's the main reason these cousins - in from Detroit to visit us while our kids are in town - are partying outdoors in single-digit temperatures: everybody here is vaccinated and boosted, except, of course, Bernie.
But it was hardly a sacrifice. With a wood-stove fire burning in our pole barn and a bonfire blazing outdoors (not to mention a cocktail, or two) we managed to power through. When it comes to parties, we're adaptable.

Even when your fingers are numb and your lips windburned, seeing the light dip behind the snowy mountains is always magical. . Going to be revamping my website again and starting up a blog so I can share full sets of photos from outings like this. Ones that didn’t make the cut on insta, or ones that aren’t necessarily bangers but that I personally love (lots of little detail shots and behind the scenes :) it’s nice to share that content in my stories but I feel like it needs somewhere to live, somewhere where my whole body of work can just breath, and be free to be seen. More updates on that coming soon!
