Superbat/Batfamily wings au where Bruce's wings are permanently damaged from his training years or through some tragic accident. But he used to be very skilled in the air, so one by one he assists every Robin on their first flight and watches as they soar out of the nest, realising he might not have healed from the tragedy as much as he thought he did.
Then comes Clark, the Superman, who notices his sorrow instantly. After their friendship had grown stronger, Bruce decides to reveal his damaged wings and Clark's heart breaks. Because they were the most beautiful pair of wings he had ever seen, so large and so dark it captures the light and glimmers in the dark. Just as beautiful as the man it belongs to, yet never to touch the sky again.
From then on he begins to take Bruce flying at night as often as he can, holding the man in his arms and cherishing how his eyes sparkle at the beautiful skyline of Gotham and above. Watching as those damaged wings stretch to it's full length after so long and flutter in the wind, falling deeper and deeper in love with Bruce.
Just a little something I thought of that I haven't seen done by others. Could be an angsty hurt/comfort, centering around his grief for his disability and his journey through moving on and healing from the tragedy.
