Windows to the World, #14: Shoreline Highway 1, Mt. Tamalpais State Park, Mill Valley, CA. Have you ever seen a sight so beautiful and awe inspring it makes you feel like you're on top of the world? Where you feel your lungs fill to capacity with the liberation of your worries? After 7 miles of tumultuous mountain hiking where every turn produces gob-smacking beauty, the sunset here produces a golden light that your eyes can't help but gulp in. If you're lucky, on the right day, a place that often covered in fog will open it's curtains to show you the kind of perfection worth living for. If you find yourself in Northern California, Dipsea and Steep Ravine Trail are worth everyones time. — Travel with wanderlust. — 🌬#WindowsToTheWorld is effort to bring a little joy, distraction and sanity maintenance in this difficult time for humans the world over. #Repost @sterlingsanders • • • • • • Mount Tamalpais State Park Windows to the World, #13: Mount Tamalpais Peak, Mill Valley, CA. Last night, above the clouds on Mount Tamalpais near San Francisco, I saw a celestial body that humanity won't see again for 7,000 years after today, #Comet #NeoWise ( C/2020 F3). I find rare experiences to be treasured, as they inform our experience, our lives and our stories. No matter where you are in the world, I would encourage you to try to see it before it goes. Gazing at the stars has a way of reminding us both of our infinitesimal stature and the simultaneous grandeur of the universe and reality in which we live. If ever you found wonder in the sky, it's out there waiting for you, as long as you're willing too look. — I wish everyone to find the kind of adventure and discovery that produces the feels that sparkle all over. That's how you know you're onto something special. — 🌬#WindowsToTheWorld is effort to bring a little joy, distraction and sanity maintenance in this difficult time for humans the world over. Windows to the World, #11: Boston Common, Boston, Massachusetts. Every Memorial Day, on Boston Common—the public park at the center of the city—one flag is planted for every resident of Massachusetts who has passed away in in war since the revolutionary war. With a centuries long tradition, #Boston on #MemorialDay is filled with nothing but honor and respect. The last time I was there they planted 37,300. This year, those flags were placed 6ft apart to honor social distancing. It’s moments like this, moments of reverence, that continue to remind me to show pride in where you come from and appreciation to the service of those who’ve enabled and informed your life. If you ever find yourself planning a trip here, the end of May is always a fantastic time to go. This one’s for you America. Cheers. — Speak or you won’t be heard. — 🌬#WindowsToTheWorld is effort to bring a little joy, distraction and sanity maintenance in this difficult time for humans the world over. Windows to the World, #10: Fan Pier, Boston, Massachusetts. There is something majestic about a beautiful skyline, and while not as acclaimed as other cities, Boston's beauty does not disappoint. With arguably my favorite view of Boston, this incredible harbor walk encircles 21 acres and is full of life, restaurants and a feast for the eyes when the sun begins to set. The glow of the city set against beautiful skies is worth the trip alone. I have always found wonder when you can feel the history of a place that's full of modern advancements. The city feels new and well aged simultaneously, it hasn't lost the mystique of it's important place in history, but hasn't stopped pushing forward for the better either. I enjoy the idea of a city in a fairly small size, where you can get the personal feel of a town but the hustling nature of the city. These are the best kinds of contrasts in my opinion. Also, my first real Boston Cream Pie paired with a siz course champagne flight, I understand why this yellow cake has stood the test of time. I'm a fan, looking forward to eating a few next time I'm there. — Time and effort, the solution to every problem. — 🌬#WindowsToTheWorld is effort to bring a little joy, distraction and sanity maintenance in this difficult time for humans the world over. Windows to the World, #9: Taft Point, Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Village, California. Have you ever wanted to simultaneously feel like you're standing on top of the world while also realizing how small you are in the universe? There is no greater place to discover that feeling than Taft Point at Yosemite National Park. I find some of the greatest feelings to come from concurrent contrast and contradiction, you'll find a gold mine of that here. This places yields the most humbling and extravagant experiences a person can have, empowered and terrified, excited but tempting nature, brave but equally stupid, fearful but filled with so much adrenaline and fun. It's maybe the easiest way to aswer the question: "Am I afraid of heights." Overlooking a view of El Capitan, and one of the greatest most majestic views in all of Yosimite, I highly recommend it. American national parks are some of the greatest experiences I ever had, I sing their praises to everyone who will listen. I'm trying to get to all of them in the next 10 years, holler if you want to tag along. — It is not the dream you desire, but what it brings you. — 🌬#WindowsToTheWorld is effort to bring a little joy, distraction and sanity maintenance in this difficult time for humans the world over.
