It’s running 95C, without the IE4 explorer integration. I’ve installed most of my software onto it, but I have yet to get try getting the two rear USB ports working.
Behold, the current contender to replace my now defunct Windows 95C machine. It sports a faster processor than the old one, a better variant of the ATI 3D Rage Pro, USB ports, and a US Robotics 56K ISA modem. I’ve thrown in 512MB of RAM, a sound/game port card, a 40GB HDD, and a spare Zip100 drive I had laying around. No idea what the NIC on here is going to be like, but I will find out sooner or later.
First things first, getting IDE stuff squared away. Then it’s time to install 95C.
End of the line for my Windows 95C machine...
After extensive work attempting to discern why my Windows 95C rig isn’t displaying video, or giving any kind of meaningful response to the user, I’ve decided that it’s time to cut my losses. Multiple graphics cards, keyboards, PSUs, tests with no storage media attached, and general trial and error has led me to believe that the motherboard or Pentium II are to blame. With that, the hunt is on for new parts to rebuild a suitable Pentium II machine!
So, any recommendations for Pentium II motherboards for me to seek out?

Apparently my Windows 95C desktop can format floppies to 1.7MB DMF, instead of the usual 1.44MB. Now I’ll be able to copy over 95B on floppies, one at a time for my ‘94 Toshiba. Nice.
Windows 95C on a composite monitor is weird, man. No matter what you do, it’s going to look blurry. The fact that this graphics card supports such a mode is rather impressive.
Three new capacitors later, my Windows 95C machine lives again!
It even plays nice with the internet for once. Well, time to play some LEGO Island!
