I fucking hate Blackboard and Wimba voice! Just use the fucking java script and let me do my fucking homework already!!! GRRR! FCUK!
Wimba on Linux
I use Wimba (otherwise named Blackboard Collaborate) to take online courses at Drexel University.
I use a Dell Latitude D830 Linux (Ubuntu, specifically) and Firefox to access my online classroom, but unfortunately the sound doesn't work.
After a lot of searching around, I found out that if you add the following to your ~/.pam_environment:
PA_ALSA_PLUGHW=1
Logout, re-login, then go to your Wimba classroom in Firefox and your sound should work!
Thanks to this conversation for guiding me to this solution! I hope it helps others out there, too.
