In Need Of A Friend. |
Metroville didn't seem as far of a walk when she had four legs but now it felt like a journey. Strolling around only to find the girl with the raven hair that had gained her trust so easily. That same girl that seemed fragile on the outside but deep inside was strong. At least that's how Vitani saw her as. She was like her sister in a way even though she had been born a human and Tani had been born a lioness. There were obvious differences but there was also similarities which only they knew about. The rays of the sun beaming down had allowed her to see the city differently for once on her visit here. Every time she decided to stop by it was already night time and the few streaming lights of the street lamps were never very useful. It was big and beautiful but she much preferred the vast plains of the Pride Lands where she was free to run. That thought made her halt in her tracks to glare at her human feet as she let out a huff. "Being human sucks," she muttered under her breath.
After a moment she let her blue irises scan the area around her to see if there was a place she could just take a small rest. She hadn't taken a break from her walk ever since waking up and her body was aching for one at this point. Fragile body. Her thoughts were just as vicious as her words and she couldn't help but be against this sudden change. Vitani much preferred her lioness form as she felt stronger that way and more prepared to deal with anything that decided to harm her out of nowhere. Finally she caught sight of an empty table in front of a small cafe with two empty chairs just for her. Crossing the street without a care in the world, she sat herself down on the uncomfortable chair but was at least happy to have a moment to rest before continuing to search. If only she could remember in which direction it was that her friend's house laid. That one night she had found herself there had been dark and she was so weak that her mind had barely recognized where she was being lead to. She tapped her nails against the metal surface of the table as she pondered exactly how she would find her friend in a city this big. Her bangs fell to cover her vision for a moment and she couldn't even care for the blonde strands as she mumbled to herself that this had been a bad idea. Tani was beginning to get hungry and she had no money to offer in exchange for food. "Time to beg like a hyena," she whispered. A frown crossed her face for a second to think of Shenzi who was practically like a mother to her. More of a mother than what Zira had been. Instantly she shook the memories away and dug into her pockets to take out a small tray she carried before setting it on the table.
The thought of begging wasn't one that Vitani liked but it meant she got some food for her belly. If this was the way to survive then she was going to try her best to keep from dying. She was a fighter after all. "Please, I need some money to eat. Won't anyone spare some change," she called out to the random pedestrians who passed by her. Some offered a few bucks while others rolled their eyes at her mere pleading which always made her want to pounce on them but she managed to contain that anger of hers. As she started to count the amount of money she made, a group of men crowded around her. Her brows furrowed in irritation as her smile rapidly transformed into a scowl. "I'm busy here. Just leave me alone," she sneered. The men chuckled as the biggest of the three grasped her wrist and pulled her to a standing position before him. He licked his lips suggestively and it only made her think of the vultures surrounding the Out Lands, they were nothing but scavengers. She tried fighting back but found she wasn't strong enough to pull away from him so instead she curled her lips into a snarl. "Let go before I fucking cut your eyes out." Though she didn't have the sharp claws she was use to, she was pretty sure she knew how to use these nails just as well. He grinned maliciously as he pressed her petite figure towards his which only made her shudder in disgust. The fact that he was touching her was all that was needed to make her feel gross to her stomach but she wasn't going to let him know that.

Hey Sis || Violet [wiltingviolet]
Dash opened the door to his home, feeling something was a little different. He wasn't sure what. He just shrugged and headed for his room, tossing his bag in the corner and kicking his shoes off. "Man," he groaned, stretching. He did a little jump in his room and stretched out. Practice had been a little crazy. He hated having to be slow, but he knew why he had to.
He checked the time on his alarm clock and saw that he still had time before his parents got home so he made his way for Jack Jack's room, to relieve the sitter for the day. They usually went through sitters pretty quickly. Jack Jack was still little and had trouble containing his powers. Dash stopped by the kitchen and grabbed an apple, biting into it.
He paused at the doorway to his little brother's room, staring at the girl. He hadn't seen her in so long. "Uh. H-hey there, Vi," he said to his sister. "I--Mom didn't say you'd be watching Jack Jack."

Time to heal || Wiltingviolet
It was a rather gloomy day. Clouds covered the sky, fluffy, promising of storms and winds. The sun was nearly blotched out in all the excitement, leaving the whole world in sepia tones; everything looked dirty. But at least it was warm, nearing real Spring temperatures, finally. The streets of Metroville were fairly empty, most people already have fled inside to avoid the inevitable storm. Jean enjoyed this type of weather, running a hand through his hair
Pulling an ornate, silver pocket watch from his pocket, he checked the time, eyes cheerful as he trotted along down the pathway of the park. 'Right on time,' he thought to himself with disdain for his own humor. There was never being on or off time with him. He could simply be whenever he chose. And there she was! Just the person he was looking for. Sitting on a bench under a tree was Violet. He approached her cautiously not knowing exactly how she would react to him. It was different each time he tried. He could feel the familiarity of the situation, the oh so ironic 'Deja vu' feeling as he spoke his, at this point, well rehearsed line.
"Nice weather, isn't it?" Jean shoved his hands in his pocket, looking up at the sky as the first few drops began to fall. Dangling from his wrist was an umbrella, which of course he would offer to her in exactly a minute and a half.

If there was anything that the quirky redhead enjoyed it was her day off work.
Naturally, you’d believe, for the fact that anyone would enjoy their free time. But with Merida living above the bar in an apartment where you could still hear the sounds of the music and cheering, yelling and whatever else was going on downstairs she enjoyed being able to escape and spend time on her own where there would be peace and quiet.
It was nothing new for Merida. Even when she was in Scotland she enjoyed getting out and riding around on her best friend Angus to find peace and quiet – even if most of the time it was upon the top of the Fire Falls on the Crone’s Tooth. Here she didn’t have Angus; nor did she have many friends; but she didn’t mind. She could make friends easy enough – work just took up most of her time and the people she met in the bar rarely became friends.
Except for that one lad and his brother – and then there was Korra; but she technically met Korra outside the bar and she had already closed up for the night.
Merida plopped down on a bench and stretched out her legs. Finally she didn’t have to wear any sort of revealing clothing like she did in the bar. She could bum around in a pair of trousers for one thing – that was very grand. She loved wearing dresses, if they weren’t clinging to her form – like her mother preferred when she was in Scotland [even if technically Queen Elinor didn’t want her daughter revealing anything like she does in her ‘uniform’].
“Finally.” She mused leaning back and looking up at the sky. This park was the perfect place to relax. There was nothing around to bug her and not many loud noises – some children playing but she could handle that. As long as she wasn’t going to get interrupted by screaming children, bossy people or another drunken git looking for a good time then Merida was happy. After all she wanted to make friends, but she had standards – like any other person.
Hood covering her head, black hair hanging over her eye, Violet walked along the dark streets of Metroville, the streetlights the only thing illuminating the nearly deserted walkways. It was rare for the city to be so empty, the streets usually bustling with people even at this late hour, but the snow that had begun to lightly sprinkle upon the ground seemed to have kept people inside their warm and cozy homes. But Violet just needed to get out into the fresh air, relax her mind from the events she had been through that day
Hands shoved into her pockets, her eyes were on her feet when she nearly tripped over something, Violet catching her fall before turning to look at what had almost made her fall. It appeared to be a somewhat large cat. …A lion? Tilting her head to the side, she stared at it in confusion, wondering why a lion was in the city in the first place. Let alone one that seemed to talk.
…A talking lion.
Blinking, Violet searched through her deminished mind as she tried to figure out where she had seen the cub before. She knew it was familiar, and it took her a few moments of long silence to finally put a name to her nearly forgotten friend.
“…Vitani?”
[[BTW I’ve been on my Syndrome account mostly xD I just missed my baby Violet too much so I HAD TO COME BACK.]]
Her blue orbs caught what she had bumped into and then followed it upwards to see it belonged to a human girl. The only reason she could tell it was a girl was by the way she dressed and the long raven hair that seem to poke out of the hood she wore. Though most of her features were hidden due to the darkness of the night that seemed to surround them and the hood just added to the difficulty. Tani had great eye sight since she was a lion and all but ever since everyone leaving, she had avoided hunting at night at all costs. She was skinnier and lacked the strength she had once possessed as a lion cub which only meant she wasn't the same as before when it came to being physically okay. Yet, that didn't mean that her nasty attitude had disappeared. Vitani was still the young cub that felt like she could take the whole world on with just a swipe of her paw and she was going to show this girl that she wasn't one to be messed with so easily.
The cub got straight on to all four paws and bared her fangs while the most pathetic, weak growl rumbled through her throat. The least she could do was show that she wasn't going to go down easy and if it came to it, she would fight. Her claws slithered out casually and tapped the ground as to prove that she could slice the girl up if it came to that but soon her whole act went to waste. The girl spoke and Vitani froze as the fur at the back of her neck bristled up at the ends. She knew that voice but she couldn't remember the name or even a face to go with it but she did in fact recall the voice.
Tani pulled herself up from the crouch and took a step forward even though she was still slightly wary of this being a trick. It wasn't everyday that people knew her name and she was so unsure of whether to run or stay. This could be a friend and she so desperately wanted one even if she never admitted it out loud. The lights from the street suddenly helped her to see the face that had been masked and her eyes widened in response. She remembered that face as well and she clearly could see some memories trying to make their way to the front line of her mind. Vitani stared at the girl for a moment longer as she desperately hoped that this wasn't all a dream.
"Violet," she croaked out while taking another step forward.
