In the years following the war, things had changed. Where she had doggedly trained for a full three years to catch up to Naruto and Sasuke, all of her efforts had been crushed into dust when the Sage of Six Paths himself had revived Naruto and Sasuke when Madara had singlehandedly killed them and granted them powers that had been their birthrights over a thousand years before their time. While Sakura couldnāt begrudge what had effectively been a cosmic emergency for the world on the brink, it had opened up her eyes to how weak she really was. Weakness that Katsuyu had sympathized with and worked to help her through. So, two years and a new summoning contract, sage mode, and three kekkei tota later, she knew she was almost to the point Naruto and Sasuke were... even if it wouldnāt be totally close enough.
The kunoichi often spent her nights on the rooftop of the Haruno house, left to her once her parents had moved to the Northeastern Isles in the Land of Neck, the archipelago also where Shikkotsurin was located. As the home was only a reconstruction of what had been there once, her parents decided that enough was enough, and Sakura understood. Still, she was a Jonin now and needed some roots. With natural energies regulated into sage chakra that caused her irises to glow and chakra pathways to glow with starry veins beneath her skin, the chakra signature of someone else doing something similar impacted her like a meteorite.Ā
Someone who likely felt the feedback of hers, too.
āWait a second, thereās another sage out there besides me and Naruto?ā she thought aloud incredulously, bolting across the rooftops and towards where her Pareital Eye took over the sensing faculties towards this other, mysterious sage.
