Funk 4 Funds at The River Room

Pronounced sort of like 'soldiers,' Solgyres is a ska band out of 90's central casting in the best fucking way possible. I would totally see them again. I assume the first skanking circle pit to happen in the River Room occurred at this show.

The 4th annual Willistock, hosted by the ECSU Radio Club featured Dagwood, SLOOF, oldsoul, and The Merks. Photos below.

Vulturetown Arts hosted the Chaos and Joy closing party on 3/11 at The Eclectic, at 25 Meadow St. in Willimantic CT. Local artists and bands came together for an *eclectic* night of fun and food and music.

Willimantic Records is a local mainstay and to celebrate it's fourth year, they stacked a bill with Becky Kessler, Landing, Major Stars, and Mountain Movers. ​ Becky Kessler (from Violent Mae) payed solo and was arguably even better alone.

On a whim, my roommates and I stopped at Connecticut Gourmet Bakery (1569 Main St, Willimantic,) and picked up cake slices and cookies. The woman who helped us was incredibly sweet, first giving us the grand tour, samples, and even recommendations. We tried the cinnamon buns which were amazing, the gingersnaps which were equally great, a white chocolate raspberry cake which was decent, and various other delicious cookies.

I live a few blocks from Willimantic Records so I obviously checked out the free show on 12/12. I wasn't familiar with Procedure Club, Medication, or Cerise Montclair, but I'm always down for music.
