He chuckled at the other's statement, exhaling sharply out of his nose. "You know, I'm quite the same. Comes with my line of business." Given the strange opinions of him that people in London seemed to appear at his workshop with, he was less than comfortable getting too deep into conversation with a stranger. "That's why I tend to work alone," he was never sure when someone was just talking to him because they wanted to talk to him, or if it were more of a fishing exercise to try and get him to admit to something he hadn't done. "I'd hate for someone to get hurt by anything in here. You know, putting their hands where it isn't safe to. Something like that..." he turned his head, though still facing away, and looked to the other with curious features. "What made you think of death when you came in here?"
