is this the fist meal of his day? maybe. will eliana be annoyed with him because he hadn't eaten all day? probably. is he trying to distract them with food? definitely. it's why he finds himself walking to their place in the early evening, with a few bags of chinese takeout in his hands and a pathetic little apologetic pout to really drive the message home. santiago fumbles with his phone, calling eliana and asking her to please open the door for him as he's almost there. "i have food," he offers, "your favorite. i'm maybe three minutes away. open up, please."

santiago has... no idea what's happened. valentine's day isn't really his favorite day, but he knows it can be fun. everyone's dressed nicely and they're all drinking their cute little drinks. and kisses! kisses all around. kisses even for him, somehow. not only that, but kisses from people he's never seen before in his life. santiago is dumbfounded as he makes his way to the bar, but stops as he spots eliana and makes his way over to her instead.
