Hey, Cas. *Hypothetically* speaking, how would one know if they are living in the apocalypse?
That’s an interesting question. How would you define “apocalypse”? Is it the end of times that happens as biblically foretold and written by Chuck, or do you take it to simply mean destruction of the world as we know it, which could come about by way of an infinite number of possibilities?
If it’s the former, then your question has an easy answer — look for War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death, violent weather and calamitous events as depicted in Chuck’s writings.
If it’s the latter, then my answer is...one wouldn’t be able to know. If we accept that Chuck is no longer in control and that there is no longer a “plan” that we’re supposed to stick to, then it follows that there is no “apocalypse” for us to know whether it is happening or not. But I suppose we could still make reasonable guesses, just like one could notice bee decline and posit that impending global starvation will wipe out the human race. And if we also accept that there could be an infinite number of apocalyptic scenarios, then we are, in a sense, always living in an apocalypse, and the more pressing question becomes...how far along are we?
