Meet #Macadamia! Fondly known as Mac, he is the oldest of the four circus elephants rescued by #WildlifeSOS in April 2015. As part of his indoctrination and training to perform in the circus, Mac was beaten and starved, and was forced to live in shockingly unhygienic conditions. Mac has come a long way since his rescue, and has recovered from much of the trauma he suffered. He eats well, and gets lots of exercise from walking around and playing with his favourite toy- an inflatable tyre. A 5-foot-long ‪#‎Cobra‬ was rescued by the ‪#‎WildlifeSOS‬ Rapid Response Unit after it was found entangled in a synthetic net outside the nursery at the National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi. Find out more about the daring rescue operation in this report by Deccan Herald.

#Beardiary: A lovable #slothbear residing at the #AgraBearRescueFacility; Ganesha’s life with #WildlifeSOS is quite different from what it was 12 years ago. Poached from the wild as a cub and sold to his Kalandar owner, Ganesha was subjected to years of abuse & lived a life full of pain and misery. Moreover, due to lack of proper care and nourishment, his eyesight and immunity were gravely affected. Today, Ganesha is 20 years old and has comfortably adapted to life at the centre with the rest of our rehabilitated sloth bears. Weighing a healthy 132 kilograms, he is a big bear with an even bigger appetite. He always looks forward to his meals and enjoys gorging on mangoes during summers.
