So, appearantly, in addition to this last night , someone broke into the secondary fire station and stole the extinguishers and first aid kits out of the trucks.
They also got into my barn [which is a tertiary station, because we keep trucks staged inside and there are bunk frames in the event of firemen needing it in emergency] and broke the windshields on the brush trucks that were waiting to have their tires changed, since the mechanic had moved down here due to the fire taking his house and shop.
There were appearantly looters directly behind firelines as well, according to my father. People coming up on 4-wheelers and getting into houses while firefighters were busy trying to keep the fire off the one next door and too busy to do anything about it. That or people coming in behind them and the radios are too busy that law enforcement can’t catch it till its too late, and they’re stretched too thin to do road blocks and chase looters.
