I just want to say that Wilder is my favorite vn of all time. I RARELY replay any game, reread any book, rewatch ANYTHING but wilder is one of quite possibly three things ive EVER read multiple times in my life. I understand why you stopped working on the game, and i dont blame you nor do i want you to continue. Its your story, your life, you do whats best for you. However, i want to say….The two chapters released are beautiful. during the pandemic and all the horrible things occurring, particularly in the US (since thats where i live) bahadurs and rans stories have reminded me that hope and change exist. And thats things arent always as they seem, we should give the benefit of the doubt to others and look for the truth. Maybe some will think its weird that i get all that from wilder but i dont care. wilders sweet endings always put me in my right mind, give me hope. You are an incredible story teller, please don’t ever stop creating.
Thank you for this message! I can't put into words how much it means to me. And though I am keeping quiet until I know I can confidently share what I'm working on at the moment, I promise I haven't stopped.
Hi! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that precious time I sent playing Wilder! It is a pity you couldn't brought to life all the way you wanted it to be. The circumstances and reasons for this sadden me deeply. I just wanted you to know that you gave many pleasant warm moments at least one more person, your story and characters always will be in my heart. I wish you inspiration and success! Don't let anyone get in the way, you are really good! Best wishes from Ukraine <3
Thank you so much, anon. <3 Love from the UK!
While I understand & respect your decision to abandon Wilder, I wish you hadn't. While experiences/background can definitely help you be a better writer, research can be a big proponent. If we only wrote about what we have experienced, or what others think we should be able to speak on, our world narrows. Not only in what we show others, but what we learn. Writing about something can help you look at things differently - it does me anyway - esp when you do your research. I wish you the best. TY
But I did research? Slavery in Wilder is based heavily on slavery in ancient Rome and Greece, with tidbits of other ancient cultures thrown in and some fantasy genre paint splashed over top.
The problem was my growing concern (and, to be brutally honest, this was a concern/criticism that numerous people had already expressed to me and I had explained away without truly seeing or contending with the heart of the issue) that slavery as a topic cannot be divorced from the real life ramifications of slavery still infecting the world today. Add in that I am a white woman writing about characters of colour and it's even more problematic.
I'm not saying that slavery is off the table for writers. I'm not saying that slavery is a one race or one country thing. I'm just saying that, personally, I was growing increasingly uncomfortable and unsure with the topic and--even if you think that discomfort was unwarranted or conquerable--there's no denying it had a big hand in delaying the game for years. Even if there was a way forward I was simply too exhausted to keep going.
But thank you for your kind thoughts. I do appreciate everyone's understanding and graciousness.
Hello! I was wondering, when you buy the Wilder games, is there a way to access the CG gallery? I got two CG's in my playthrough but the gallery option that was in the demo doesn't show up ;;
Hi there! There's no gallery option in Ran or Bahadur's story. The plan was to implement a gallery in the full version of the game, but...uh...yeah...
Really sorry about that!

Ahhhh I've already sent an ask so I hope you don't mind me sending another 😬 I was just wondering how all the LIs would deal with an MC who sleep walks. Do they find it funny or scary? Or do they not care at all?
Thanks!!! 💖
Take care of MC in her sleepwalking state: Bahadur, Trash
Tease her about it in the morning: Ran, Amir, Royo
Hide under the covers and hope she’s not possessed: Jamal
Hello. I have some questions about Wilder Ran's Story if you don't mind answering: 1- What did Ran think back then about aunt Lamya sending him to make the MC a woman? 2- Was he tempted back then? 3- And what did he think about her back then? 4- Did he find her beautiful and attractive back then? 5- What did he think when he saw her wearing the wedding dress for the first time? 6- And when was the moment when he started to get interested in her and see her as a woman? ... [1] (Thank you!)
[2] ... 1- And when was the moment Ran really realized he was in love with the MC? 2- Why did he hesitate at first to kill the MC at that time when aunt Lamya sent him to the MC's room? Was it because she was a girl? Because he didn't really want to kill anyone? Or because he thought she was beautiful? Or because he knew that if he did that he would have problems later? ... (I'm sorry for asking you so many silly questions! And thank you for your time!) ... +
[3] ... 3- And if Bahadur hadn't come around in the MC's room to stop Ran would he really have killed the MC then? Or was Ran's intentions just to scare the MC? Or distract her or at most hurt her (but not to kill)? 4- Why did Ran decide to come back to help the MC when she was captured by the other djinn in the forest? (Thank you very much!)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow. Okay. Lemme just crack my knuckles and let’s do this...
What did Ran think back then about aunt Lamya sending him to make the MC a woman?
He was disgusted, initially shocked, but ultimately not very surprised.
Was he tempted back then?
No, he had only one thing on his mind.
And what did he think about her back then?
Nothing beyond her being a weak spot to exploit in his bid for freedom.
Did he find her beautiful and attractive back then?
Probably didn’t even give such things a moment’s attention.
What did he think when he saw her wearing the wedding dress for the first time?
He would’ve noticed how beautiful she looked, in a distant sort of way.
And when was the moment when he started to get interested in her and see her as a woman?
As soon as they were away from the city and had some space to breathe the attraction would’ve started growing, quickly and secretly, a while before Ran even noticed.
And when was the moment Ran really realized he was in love with the MC?
Up for interpretation. Possibly not until she said it first.
Why did he hesitate at first to kill the MC at that time when aunt Lamya sent him to the MC's room?
He didn’t want to kill her. He’s never wanted to kill anyone, not really.
And if Bahadur hadn't come around in the MC's room to stop Ran would he really have killed the MC then?
He almost certainly would have killed her. Too stupid and risky not to.
Why did Ran decide to come back to help the MC when she was captured by the other djinn in the forest?
By that point, against his desires, they had spent a little time together. There was a sort of begrudging responsibility Ran felt, even if he denied it. At least enough to not just let this young, lost girl be hurt or killed when he was right there and could stop it.
Have you considered using Kickstarter to fund Wilder's development? You're head & shoulders above most otome makers in terms of quality, and you have plenty of proof of concept--I think it'd go great!
Thank you so much! But, honestly, I’m the only thing holding back Wilder at this point. The funding is all complete.
I might consider Kickstarter in the future maybe, for more ambitious projects, but I would definitely make sure I’d done the vast majority of the writing in advance. (I’ve learned my lesson!)
