yep. 2 posts in one day(or started in one day cause this got posted nearly at 1 am). and this one is all about mu infamous chi power system @brightlotusmoon @fire-fira @brain-rot-tmnt @technicallysublimechild usually i @ you guys at the end of the post but this time is very very special because i have constantly blabbed and blabbed about this dang system for as long as ive known most of you. so prepare to learn about my take on the power of chi... in digestible parts. this is the very very basics of how i handle what i consider the main 4 branches of chi. of otherworldy usually supernatural and otherwise instinctual energy. so prepare to learn! with my 4 part introductory lesson on each of the energies... done in parts cause i underestimated the laptop and my ability to do photos on it in a good way.
also ill be using allot of art from different sources for this to sort of convey what i mean. unfortunately I'm a very detail oriented person.
i have a list to somewhat describe these energies
what the energy is called
what the energy uses to generate itself
where the energy is often stored
what materials best absorb the energy
the concentrated version of the energy
its color palette
and what i used as theming or what inspired me for the energy.
it's best to start with the very beginning of the energy. with what i call wild mana
wild mana(or primal chi) was the very first ever energy that people channeled from themselves and the world around them. and known often as the most chaotic and unstable in certain circles. it would eventually Fall to make way for the current umbrellas of chi power. this very wild and animalistic energy is what we would call wild mana or primal chi(many names were given to this energy but this has often been lost to time) Wild mana often holds tales of great beasts made of the elements or of a channelers own wild spirits. Some channelers of this wild power (known as the wild shamans) even having the power of bringing forth an animal form based within there own spirit animal. and with it bringing many tales of great beasts bound or dressed in materials so similar to the channelers biological body mass..
wild mana had only one need to generate it. instinct/intuition. nothing else is required to generate the energy.
this wild power has 2 places its stores itself inside. the special animal themed marks that decorate its users body called wild marks or beasts scratches. if it isn't stored in these special chi icons then it lies incomplete and dormant within the casters soul as what would be known as spirit energy
as mentioned before beasts mana best absorbs and adheres itself to organic materials. things like bones, hair, even the blood of the caster.
the concentrated version of this energy is often been called prena(predators mana)
its powers are heavily influenced and inspired by several sources(the wicked weaves of bayonetta, maria renard, umbras from mtg, vixen from dc)
now that is it for now. we will return another time to talk about spirit power what is often considered the "safe way" (read sanitized or refined by some communities) to use the power of chi when the dangers and problems of wild chi were discovered... feel like i should apologize if this post looks bad or very unwieldy to read. but i hope i got it across.
edit: i forgot another character who helped me with the ideas for this system. the immortal iron fist! and in even more recent time this cool pick of the immortal weapons skins for marvel rivals
