If it were so easy as to deter a pugnacious foe with one word, he’d do it. Yet the most effective lessons were taught in the form of beatings and bruisings, either physical or psychological made no difference. The angel’s posture straightened out with shoulders rolled back and arms half-bent towards his chest. He thumbs at his ring, feeling the warmth flicker and lick at his digit. Should he...?

“No,” he said. His stance was firm and his words carried with a smooth roll off the tongue. Eyes so used to trailing the tigress’ form hardened in a weighted gaze, one with a tint of hurt. 

His sword at last made its appearance known. A longsword with ornate, otherworldly depictions of rising flames and detailed clouds run along the weapon’s length, all the way to the dark leather grip and the gold hand guard before it. He tightened his grip on the leather-- fingers curled around to better support his trusty sword’s weight. Then, with a swing of his arm, the sword ran through the air with its etched design burning yellow and white. 

Light did the sword justice, as  it did to Kemuel.
