❝ Happy Birthday! ❞ In the same time she pronounces those words, Evelyn hands him his present, uncertainty still lingering within her mind as she has no solid idea whether he might like it: and so, she hands him over the puppy she holds into her arms, a bright smile still present upon her countenance. ❝ Take care of him, alright? If you can't or don't like dogs, just tell me. ❞
It isn’t cupid which struck his heart, but there is certainly something known as love (love for the pawing puppy) at first sight. A puppy! If he was asked whether he was a cat person or dog person then he would immediately say dog - a small part of him always wanted one as a pet too but he fathomed asking his parents. How did she know though? He never told her, but maybe this was what it meant for someone to actually subconsciously notice.
“I love dogs! How did you know?”
A genuine smile upon his face, golden hues fading behind crescent eyes as mirth bleeds into his features. He opens those yellow orbs again, hands slowly reaching out to the puppy to have it recognize him before he embraces it. His huh?
“Thanks a lot.”
Nothing’s going to be wiping this grin away from him for a while. Now what to name the creature…
