A lot of people feel helpless when someone they know has been diagnosed with cancer. I know cancer all too well and have lost many loved ones to it. However, there are ways that you CAN help! 

What you can do to help:

Spread Awareness

Go to rallies, walks, etc.

There is so much that you can do and every little bit helps.

What you can volunteer for and how you can do so:

You can ask around your local area to find out about any events, charities, etc that may be looking for volunteers! 

Volunteering is a HUGE help, especially for planned events. You could also volunteer by selling awareness ribbons, daffodils (some sell the real flowers and some sell chocolate daffodil lollipops), or anything else that may go to cancer research or the patients themselves!

The American Cancer Society website includes ways for people to utilize their talents (like beauticians for example) to help patients with wigs, appearance, fundraisers, walks, etc. This site also provides information on how you can volunteer, ideas to raise money, or to give you ideas of what you could do to help!

I would highly recommend asking around your area about possible volunteer opportunities, as it may be different depending on your state or country!

How and where to donate money for cancer research or for patients:

I personally buy $20 cards where all profits go to the family with a loved one with cancer. I bought one of these last year to help a woman with cancer. These cards mostly have a list of reusable coupons on the back for different places of businesses who sponsor the patient! I also make regular donations at my local grocery stores to the Make a Wish Foundation, and to specific children in need. I also buy Pink Ribbon merchandise towards Breast Cancer. 

There is a good chance that you have these opportunities in your area as well! Walmart is well known, and usually always has an option to donate for a cause!
